Started having knee pain in BOTH knees a couple months ago and i'm getting tired of it, want at least a diagnosis (have no health insurance is why i waited so long) so i finally made an appt with a Naturopath that specializes in sports medicine.
All i was doing a few months ago was walking my dead end street, one end has a hill and i'd do (my version of) HIIT up the hill and walk fast the rest of it for about an hour and loved every minute of it, with seemingly no pain. Then pretty much all of the sudden-bam. (well i do have fibromyalgia and severe muscle imbalances) i think it was precipitated by squats (i know how to do them correctly) but needless to say i stopped those at the first sign of pain-my knees just do not like them even though i do.
Both knees i imagine have arthritis (crepitus sounds) but especially the left one has been completely asymptomatic and the right one would only yell with squats but wow, both flared and have stayed that way even though i stopped walking my hill and went back to only 30 minutes on a treadmill. Also have incorporated Pilates although i am wondering if that, too, for right now is aggravating my knees....
i know PT's rx certain strengthening exercises (such as the clam, straight leg raises, side leg raises for hip/buttock strength) so i am now concentrating on doing those and hopefully this Monday i will get some answers!!
thanks for prayers and well wishes
