Default Advice needed

hi, I am very new to this - i have never been on any forum before. I started IP on 6/10/13 and have lost a total of 4.5 lbs. as of today - 7/8/13. I have not cheated once - my coach took me off of restricted items. I am very discouraged and not sure what is going on. My WI this am was 140.4 - My family is going on vacation Aug 1 thru Aug 10 - so i am so very serious about getting weight off for this trip. I have been reading all i can on blogs and every blog i read shows people losing at least 2 lbs a week - CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ADVICE to what i may be doing wrong???

Hi donna. Can you post a typical days' diet? That might help give people an idea of where to offer advice.

it sounds like you don't have many lbs to lose is that correct? how tall are you? 4.5 lbs in your first week is pretty great if you don't have much to lose to begin with. Are you discouraged because your coach took you off restrictives?

speaking from experience, if you're only trying to lose 20 lbs or so, the weight comes off slowly but surely, don't give up!

Okay I want to take a moment here and repeat in a different way what someone already said. When you are close to your goal weight (ie you do not have very much to lose) you will lose much slower!

You are currently at a BMI of 24.1 for your weight and height. To me this tells me you shouldn't have a whole lot left to lose. Normal weight is 18.5 - 24.9 on the BMI scale.

If you compare your losses to other people who perhaps have BMI's in the 30's or 40's then you will be greatly disappointed. EVERY BODY losses at different rates. This Diet does work, but I feel it will be slower for you just because your starting from a pretty low point.

I know vacations are a great reason to slim down but keep in mind you could phase off for your trip and then return to finish getting to where you want to be.

I hope this helps, as I know it's not the answer you likely want but there is no secret magic once you get as close as you are to goal.

Read Mntrose's post again. The reason she is right is because fat loss is an equation of energy. A 145lb person uses far less energy than a 350 lb person so you'll burn less fat every day. IP diet doesn't talk about this but calories matter. You're eating the same (less now that you are off restricted) but burning fewer calories so you'll lose fat slower.

Also, weight loss is not linear. There is a difference between fat loss and weight loss. You may wake up tomorrow and be two lbs lighter. Fat loss is fairly linear but you can't measure it easily.

It is unlikely you're doing anything wrong.

The best advice? Patience and more realistic expectations.

You are not getting the oil in. Your body needs new fat to lose old fat. IP calls for 2 TSP a day, if I am reading your menu correctly you are only getting 1 tsp in.
Make sure you are putting the oil on your veggies or salad so you are getting the full amount in. I stalled forever until I realized I was not getting any fat in because I was eating chicken breasts and white fish and using the WF packets for convenience.Cutting out the restricteds will probably make it worse because it is cutting out the only source of fat you were getting.

Also make sure you are getting some fat in your dinner protein choices, salmon or sirlion steak are good.

MntRose couldn't say this any better... The closest to your goal the slowest the loses... Big loses are for people who their BMI is also big. Sorry I know it's not what you wanted to hear

I don't know where you got this information Pat,This may be working just fine for you but it is not what the plan states. The newest sheet for phase 1 calls for: 1-2 Teaspoons of Olive Oil or Grape Seed Extract Oil.

If you click the arrow next to Lisa's name on this quote, it should take you right to where you can get the newest Phase 1 sheet.

It took me 97 days to go from 147 to 135. When I was heavier the weight was melting off.

Here is the link to the protocol sheet post

The protocol calls for 1-2 tsp oil. Dr Trans first book called for TBSP. Perhaps that's where the discrepancy is coming?
