Great photo update Lisa!

Day 2 of P3. Loving the breakfast but sure is a lot of work figuring out what fits where (I was told there'd be no math). I'll probably just work through the P3 Breakfast Idea thread. There should be enough to get me through the next 2 weeks and then I'm going to have to chart it on my own.

Great OP Independence Day weekend! Hope everyone enjoyed it.

M35a2: I got so used to having the same things that I just have 3 go-to p3 breakfasts that I rotate thru (actually, most of the time, just one)

Hi everyone - I am in the process of doing a mini phase off for my upcoming trip to Europe. I have been on Phase 2 since Friday, and have gained 2 lbs. in the process. I know that I am eating more protein, but is this normal to have this kind of reaction? Did others see a gain when phasing off?

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend

amt6 that gain is not fat. The difference in calories between P1 & P2 is not enough for you to see a gain. It's probably water or possibly issues with C. Make sure to continue drinking your water.

Thanks for your reply! That is what I thought too, but I was so surprised when I stepped on the scale this morning. My coach told me that I can continue to lose in phase 2, but MIGHT see a gain in phase 3. Imagine my surprise when I gained 2lbs in the first 3 days on phase 2!

I did really bad last week. Tried to stay at least close to the diet but failed. Ate a lot of pizza etc. since we were at a wedding the whole week and the food there was not healthy at all. As soon as I got back home Saturday evening I've been eating clean but fruits are the only thing that agree with my stomach. I had gone on vacay in may but I never felt as nauseated as I do now. Hopefully this feeling goes away soon.

I've been trying to keep my IP diet hush hush until I am well onwell on my way. It's tough when you have a large circle of friends that get together lots! So I am 2weeks in, down 10 lbs and 6 3/4 inches. That is enough motivation for deception! Lol we are going out to the lake to visit today so we are picking up subway salads. Makes it look like I'm too lazy to cook but with my WF dressing, no one will know! The challenge is becoming fun! Any tips?

Me too! This diet has made me somewhat of a social recluse. My friends want to go out drinking and eat pub food. On the 4th, I had my little cooler with water, sparkling ice, and space food... haha! It was SOOOO hard to turn down queso dip and birthday cake... sigh. But the inches are coming off, so I'm a happy girl.

I always go out to eat at places that I know I can order just grilled chicken or steak with a side of green veggies. Salads have proven difficult for me - they're always something sneaky in there like cheese, nuts, or shredded carrots. Plain and simple chicken and veggies with no butter always works well when I go out. Subway is good too because you decide exactly what you want on it!

Maybe you could suggest grilling out for dinners? And make some grilled chicken/steak, kebobs with peppers and onion, grilled zucchini is amazing (Ree Drummond has a good recipe for grilled zucchini with lemon salt - love her). Put your space food on little plates, so it doesn't look like you're just eating protein bars all the time. And bring a blender and a big nice cup with a straw (tervis tumbler, bubba cup)! The shakes are soo good and more filling when blended with ice. Make a dreamsicle shake (half orange drink, half vanilla drink) or a blended mocha (chocolate drink blended with ice and instant espresso). You could also stop at Starbucks and get 2-3 shots of espresso over ice in a venti cup with no milk - just espresso - and pour a vanilla ready to drink over it. Yummy!

Good luck and congrats on your progress.

I haven't posted for a while. Had my family visiting from out of state. It was exhausting and so much fun. I was able to stay OP the entire week and a half! This is after making cakes, bars, and boating and grilling and having chips, dips, and snacky foods handy.

I had my WI this morning and I am down 26 lbs and 15 inches! I am so thrilled. Last week is the first time anyone commented on my weight loss and I am able to wear some of my smaller clothes. I can't believe I am just over 1/2 way to my goal of 50 lbs!

Congrats to everyone on their losses and good luck all who are just starting out.

Happy Monday, All! I had a great weekend, stayed OP and the scale is moving ever so slowly in the right direction. (Trust the plan, trust the plan, trust the plan.... my mantra when getting on the scale everyday)

On a nicer note, I have a new niece. 4 lbs. 6 oz. and doing wonderfully!!! She is beautiful and makes me long for the days when my twins were so tiny. I can't believe it's been two years! I don't envy the sleep deprivation, though.

Also, my BIL, who isn't overly fond of me, told me that I looked good. He asked about the diet and said I looked nice. Total shock. That's the first compliment he's ever given me.

My son is so excited for me to get to Onederland b/c we are celebrating by going out on a dinner/movie date. We wanted to see Desp. Me 2. Any reviews?

Good morning all! Sounds like people are having good and bad days in here - sorry! The 4th can be a challenge I guess with all that yummy food around, lazy days, etc.

I just got home last night from camping on the American River here in CA. It was a relaxing few days but we decided to come home a day earlier, which was okay with me. Tubing, whitewater rafting, grilling meat and having chill times - it was good. I managed to stay OP despite the skunks making off with quite a bit of my food towards the end of my trip. That was a bummer but only because (1) they took my unrestricted packets (which I reserve for a "real treat") and (2) the dang cost of those things! But it was okay. I had overpacked on the RTD and still had some packets, so I managed to have enough food with me despite their thievery.

NSV this morning - my size 14 jeans that were too tight about 3 or 4 weeks ago are WAY too big. And I definitely need a smaller belt as I have no more holes in any of my belts and my pants just look way too baggy.

WI tomorrow and, while I don't have high hopes (as usual), I suspect that I will be down some pounds.

Maxy- A LOT of us did and have not shared the details...actions speak louder than words...!
Altho' I'm retired...I worked with a wonderful group of people...most of them still working because they're younger than I...(but they so ground me! We get together a lot)

I've learned to speak up...they know I've become conscious of what I eat and drink...and I usually tell them when we are planning "anyplace is fine as long as I can get a salad/veg and something like fish chicken or steak grilled"...I no longer do the appetizers...and plead "not good for me...if asked...".. stopped drinking any wine before the New Year...so that was only an issue the first time I skipped an alcoholic drink...and again....just said..."I'm trying to do better...."....now that the weight loss is WAY apparent...no one questions my choices or suggests I "have just one drink.."

The courage to say I've made some lifestyle changes for my health was enough explanation ...and it was put on the table at the right time.... In generalities I've shared that I'm watching carbs, kicking up protein and REALLY watching the glycemic index of the carbs I am eating. All true. Also something if they google...they will find lots of info on how it works...and how successful a lot of people are changing to that lifestyle. Some are familiar with Paleo and know I have been Gluten Free for a long time so it makes sense. They know I feel wonderful.

True friends will respect you, they won't ask questions that make you uncomfortable but they will say you look great and they are impressed with your resolve. Those who ask questions like "how much have you lost? " get a stare and either I totally ignore it, or tell them talking specifics really makes me uncomfortable, and change the subject not even trying to be subtle. The message comes through. Now 6+ months into this, none of it is an issue and I don't feel I've had to give details to any/everyone who asks. There are a few people I have shared more info with, and one person even started the diet. Those people know they are being told confidentially...and that I find it hard to have my weight loss be the the topic of discussion regardless of my presence. Only my adult children and my husband know all the nitty gritty...everyone else only has the highlights...and I use EAS and some other protein drinks on busy days.

Sorry this is so long...but I feel the discomfort of anyone who expresses the desire to not be on parade with this diet. You will find your way to deal with it gracefully...it's small potatoes compared to actually DOING and living a lifestyle change!
