If there is a Color Run 5K event in your area...GO! It's totally low key as far as "racing" - if you can walk 3.1 miles, you can do the Color Run. It was epic funness involving 10,000 people getting colorified. We had a total blast! Absolutely the best 5K I've ever done.
I did one in April - totally fun. BUT - it wasn't great for my asthma. I ended up having a hard time breathing with all the powder around. So just an FYI
I'm going to try a neon run - night run where everyone wears glo-sticks. So i get the color without the shortness of breath.
lazy - I was thinking about doing the bubble run too in Sept - I live in the town they are holding it!

Oh! Neon run!!!! That sounds fun too!
I kind of set an unofficial goal for myself, the Bubble Run is my first 5k, I want to do one a month for a year, improving my time with every one. I also want to a Run for your Life!
I am living in sacramento and Color run is going to happen soon here. I am really so exited for this. This will be my fist color run that I am going to be a partof this event with my family and friends.
Yes we have one here in September (STL)! I was just looking at the info the other day. I have never done a 5K or any race for that matter and it is a goal of mine to accomplish. I thought it looked like a blast and would love to do it. Wish I had signed up before the cost went up.
I did this last year! It is so much fun and at least half of the people walked. Those with trouble breathing, I saw many people using bandanna's or masks over their mouths. My mom used a bandanna because she has permanent lung damage and she was fine. My husband has asthma and he was fine without using anything. The powder is only really bad at the color zones and you can go through them quickly if you need to. But of course use your own discretion, I would not recommend it for those with severe respiratory issues. Or a corn allergy (it is corn powder with food dye).
