Default NSV. no longer using food as stress relief

Wow, never thought i'd say that one.
Been in maintenance probably around 6 months and have had some pretty stressful times in my life (who hasn't?!) and while i was losing the weight, and today was a doozy and my "old self" would reach for a 1/2 pound bag of M & M's (which was almost daily) when the going got rough and i am not doing that anymore! Every once in a great while the urge strikes and it reminds me that i don't do that anymore. I still most certainly think emotionally about food but i am glad that as of now i'm not stuffing emotions with lots of sugar

Woohoo!!!

That's a great one! I have often been envious of people who stress, don't eat and lose weight! I am not one of those people, I eat my feelings.

I cannot wait for the day when I dot think about reaching for the food to cope!

That's huge! Congratulations! I look forward to the day with the urge for something isn't overwhelming, but reminds me of what I value.

WOW!!!!! Wish I could say the same. As a retiree, my level of stress is so much lower than when I was working, but I still have the urge to reach for food to assuage my feelings. Some days I win, some days I don't. Good for you for recognizing it could still be an issue, but overcoming the feelings.

Yay for big victories. I am definitely a person that self soothes with food. I also hope to get to the point where I won't be tempted to eat junk food when I am upset. Congrats!
