Default Wow-down a size and a half!

Not in clothes, I wish. But shoes!

What the heck?

So today I discovered that I need new running shoes. I have been using my trail shoes but they were really starting to hut my feet on the treadmill and when I wasn't trail hiking. So, I decided to try my daughters running shoes on, to get a feel before I go out and start trying on a bunch. Hers are super cute, and we generally run about the same size. She is usually an 8-8.5 and I am a 8.5-9. So I was like, hey ok, lets check it out.

I put them on and discovered not one but 2 NSV's!

First, I can tie my shoes while seated and bending over!! Not with my foot up on my leg in weird contortions! It was weird, I didn't even think about it, just slipped the shoe on, bent over and voila! Shoes were being tied. Yay!

Second, I discovered that the super cute running shoes, that my daughter had said were an 8.5 were actually a 7.5! What?!?! How does that happen. How does ones foot size change? I know that my feet are less wide, but shorter too?

So it's a good day so far. Now off to the gym to hot the treadmill in preparation for my first 5k in September. Bubble Run in San Diego.

That's awesome about tying your shoes! How funny that you didn't even realize it until you were doing it

Be careful about the smaller running shoes. Even if your feet have shrunk that much (holy cow!) it's usually recommended to get running shoes a half or even a full size LARGER than you usually wear to accommodate foot swelling when you run. Just be on the lookout for any hot spots/potential blisters
