Hi hub - nice to meet you. Hmmm. people like you. not as young as we used to be? everyone in this corner of 3FC have had some form of WLS - some have had great success, others not so much. some are new - some of us are <ahem> WAY not as young as we used to be, and had the surgery quite awhile ago.
We have people with RNY, duodenal switch, lap band, sleeve and a thread of people in a gastric pacing clinical trial. One thing we've found is that we have more in common than we have different. While the details vary a little by surgery, we ALL have rules to follow - and they're generally: eat protein, eat slowly, don't overeat, drink water, exercise, and deal with the fact that emotional eating is OUT.
Some of us have regained [some more than others - like me!], and then have lost most of it again. Some are here to regain control after a small regain [not naming names, though - but clue - i'm not one of them].
We are married, not married. childless, many children, one or two grands, or a whole bunch. But we all face the same challenge: figuring out how to live a healthy, balanced life with our surgery, as our relationships change, our bodies change, LIFE in general changes... it's not EASY and we''re all grateful to be here.
