How do you control portions if you have to cook more than 1 serving in the same pot?

Yup! Exactly what kaplods said. I calculate the total calories for the dish, weigh it after it's cooked, then figure out calories per gram by dividing the total number of calories by the total number of grams. Works like a charm.
