Salad. Share one of yours
I've been thinking about salads lately. I love veggies and salads, but I am so dressing picky, and the few dressings I actually like, they really add on the calories. I've seen people used aged crumbly cheeses instead, so I thought I'd try it. I bought fully-cooked frozen shrimp, lettuce mixes, veggies, and gorgonzola cheese. I'd never tried that cheese, but I'd heard good things.
Lastnight I thought I'd mix it up. I thawed the shrimp; then put them on my little grilly machine (like a George's grill, but a different brand), sprinkled a sea salt-garlic-parsley mix on it, then grilled it a few minutes. Then I crumbled half a serving of gorgonzola on my greens (I chose a mix with carrots and raddish shavings), then placed the shrimp on it. After that I grinded fresh pepper on it. It was actually really enjoyable, and had very little calories - it can be made with under 200 cals.
Here's my salad (before I put ground pepper on it) :
So what concoctions have you all come up with?

Those salads look delicious!
Thank you!
My favorite salad is a Longhorn Steakhouse copy.
Dark green lettuces with strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. Toss in some feta and a few pecan pieces (candied ones are a real treat.. but just a few) and a tiny bit of fat free raspberry dressing. You can add chicken, shrimp or even steak, but I prefer mine without meat.
So quick and easy to make and easy to take to lunch, too!
Sorry I don't have a photograph.

Fresh spinach topped with balsamic dress vinegar. Top with chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, cremini mushrooms (sauteed in a little bit of soy sauce), and steamed shrimp. Simple, tasty, love it!
Around the holidays, my favorite was spinach topped with a raspberry vinaigrette, crumbled feta cheese, sliced green apples, dried cranberries, and chopped pecans.

Those look and sound SO good!!!
I usually just use organic baby spring mix, baby spinach, green onions, lots of cucumber, bean spouts, sharp cheddar cheese and I make my own thousand island dressing...
If I have leftover chicken breast or roast beef I will cut up some and add it...
Sounds really boring compared to what y'all are eating, eh?

Those all sound pretty good. I generally tend to "stay safe," but then you get tired of it, and it can be a little boring. I'll have to try you guys' salads. I used to be leery of fruit in salads - it just sounded wrong (yes, I'm aware tomatoes are fruit lol). But I once went out to eat and ordered a salad that had grilled chicken cooked in spices and it was topped with salsa that had mangos and other fruit in it, and it was good. So I have stepped over a bit on the wild side

Here's my newest salad. It has artisan lettuce mix, green bell peppers, white onion, grape tomatoes, crumbled blue cheese, seasons and spices, half a piece of bacon cut up and cooked in the griller machine, and little crispy rice snack mix sprinkled on it (some are nutty, some are sweet sesame seed-y, then some are spicy and some are wasabi - it gave it a lot of flavors

I've recently found a great website that has all the calories (and even WW points for those of you doing WW) and all the foods seem so easy to make. Anyway, here's the salad I made that was very good: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2013/04/m...alad.html#more

No pic but I like to take spinach or a spinach blend with a packet of tuna, 2 tbsp of kens Asian sesame dressing, some chopped almonds, sesame seeds and mix it up i also enjoy wrapping it in a spinach wrap or if you want to omit those carbs try a large romaine leaf

Those both sound/look great! Thanks for sharing. See, we're making it a better world 1 salad at a time. Posting a picture isn't a must - it's just a nice extra to see the outcome, that's why I post pictures.
