Default Counting but no loss

For the past week I have seriously been counting calories and not going over my amount for the day (per myfitnesspal). The total for the day is almost 1800 and I have to say I have logged and stayed under all week. The problem is is that I have not lost anything and in fact the scale has even moved up 2 pounds.

Any thoughts on as to why this is occuring and what I should do?

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from anyone on this!!

Maybe you are retaining water? Is it close to your TOM? Give it another week or two and if you still are not losing or even gaining, maybe think about lowering your cals bit by bit until you start to see the scale move in the direction you want Don't give up, stick with it, your plan will always need to be tweaked and adjusted as you learn what works for you. Good luck

Do you use measuring spoons and measuring cups? When I first started, what I thought was a tablespoon full was so much more than it is! I thought I knew what I was doing by eyes only but it turned out I didn't!

Have you been drinking plenty of water?

Have you verified the myfitnesspal choices you made were accurate? There are some really bad entries on there as far as calorie counts go, not sure who entered those! I always try to scan the package I'm using at home to get mine into the database instead of picking a random one.

Stay on plan and keep doing what you are doing, the weight will come off! You just might need a little tweaking.

I weigh in on Mondays at my doctor's office and don't see any loss until at least Friday or Saturday (or sometimes see a gain during the week) even though I'm perfect on plan all week. It's enraging to say the least! But then by Monday the loss usually shows and all is good, until I start the week over again lol!

Good luck!!

What Elvislover said, for sure. I am in week 2 of MFP usage and have notice I've lost a little but not nearly as much as I did when I followed a different plan. Tweak tweak tweak! Remind yourself, it's not going to happen all at once, give it time, and tweak!

Also, like it was said, don't eyeball portions. It's human nature to underestimate and with something like peanut butter 2 TBSPs can look like 1 and it's double the calories!

I think in the beginning your body freaks out that it isn't getting the same amount of food. So it hoards even more. And then when it realizes that the change is permanent, it starts to use the fat stores. So just wait it out. And remember to be regular with your meals because then your body won't go into panic mode again trying to hoard food because it doesn't know when it will get food again!

Good job on getting started though! Good luck!
