Maybe just maintain for a while & see how you feel. You've done a great job, congrats.

You'll get used to the changes in your body & then you can decide where you want to be. Your ideal weight is the one that is ideal to you. Not a chart or anything outside of you.

S/C/G: See my siggy ;)

Height: 5'8"

Default Lost a lot, still have a lot to lose, but where is it gonna come from?

I have lost 50lbs. Yippee.

But my "ideal" weight would suggest that I have at least 60lbs to go.

I am feeling great and am looking much better.

But where is this 60lbs on my body going to come from? I am getting a little freaked that there isn't 60lbs left on my body to lose.

Is there? Anyone felt the same thing?

My mind is playing tricks on me.

Generally it's in the stomach, upper arms and thigh area, also back stores a lot of fat as well

I know I've said if I lost too much more weight I'd look sick. My "ideal" weight is about 20-30lbs less than I am now, and I don't think I could lose another 20-30 and be healthy. And maybe I could, but I don't feel like trying to find out! XD

At your height, unless you have insanely dense muscle mass and a heavy bone structure, there's plent left to lose and it WILL look dramatic. For men, the flanks and belly are often the last to go, as well as some additional slimming all over the limbs and face. You have done GREAT and I'm sure you'll look awesome down more pounds, but for whatever reason if you decide you don't like that look regaining some additional pounds is not usually that tough for a maintainer

Thanks for all the excellent insights. I certainly have some to go. It was just the 60lbs bit that got me slightly worried. But I will stick to the plan and see how it goes. ONE-derland would certainly be nice and a good chance to fine tune the final goal then!

Ian-- how current is your profile pic?
Based on that pic, I can see another few pounds coming off easily, but I can't imagine 60 less pounds. But I may not be the best judge of appearance, I like a stocky build!

Most people who have been fat for a long time dramatically underestimate the amount of fat they're carrying.

I know I did.

^that^

Deep sigh!

I am a maintainer! Woo Hoo!

I workout, I can lift like a banshee for a woman, and I've got all kinds of muscle. I have the upper body of a D lineman!

Thing is, at my current weight, a whopping 137, from mid thigh, to upper waist, I still have FAT!

It jiggles!

Such as it is.

I know, that for me deep down, I could stand to lose 10 more pounds. Am I gonna do it? Probably not. It would be to tough to maintain.

I think the point is, most of us are very skewed, about what is really a healthy weight.

While I still have a bit of jiggle, I am 53, I've had kids, I have a certain body composition. My health numbers are good, I look good dressed! The girls, well, they always have been and will always be large and in charge.

I think what is most important, is we find a balance between being healthy, eating right, exercising on a regular basis and being happy and accepting the body the powers that be gave us.
