A serious & scary wake up call
So for the past 2 weeks I have fallen track. Yesterday I decided to pick myself back up and start over. While at work, just after I ate my lunch, I started feeling dizzy. So I got up and went to get some water, thinking that I would be ok. Well I felt worse, like I was going to pass out. I immediately told my coworkers that I was not feeling well. I had a slight chest pain, my heart was beating, my hands shaking, I couldn't catch my breath, the room was spinning, and I started getting tingling sensations throughout my body. I am 34 yrs old and my coworkers are all my seniors who seem to have had every ailment at least once. They immediately offered to call 911, which I declined. They weren't sure if I was having a stroke, panic attack or if I had vertigo. After about a half hour, I started feeling better, although not 100%.
That was a very scary wake up call. I thought about my 4 kids and my brother who I lost to diabetes just over a year ago. I'm calling a doctor today. I need to get an examine. My family has a history of high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer.
That was my wake up call to take a more serious approach and to stay on track.

Did you check your blood pressure? I had a similar episode few years back; I ended up driving myself to urgent care and my BP was sky high.
Good luck at the doctor's!!

I understand where you are coming from. August 13, 2012 was my wake up call. It is long winded, so I won't bore you with the details, but let's just say that if my then three year old hadn't been there, I wouldn't be here today. I refuse to ever put her through that again. I refuse to ever let her witness that again. And I refuse to fail...because failing means that I put her at risk. It will not happen.
Been there, know the fear, and here if you need to talk with someone who went through a very similiar situation and is still dealing with the fallout.

I am so thankful that I read you are going to the doctors! Things like that can't be ignored. It could be something minor, too but you never know until you go. While you are there maybe you can discuss your diet and exercise plans with your doctor and see what he recommends? Good luck

Wow emid!! How scary. I hope the doctor can give you some idea of what it was that happened to you. I can't believe you could wait til today, I would have been racing to the hospital!!
I hope your appointment goes good today and you get some answers. Hope you are feeling better today too.

I'm glad you're going to see the doctor - those symptoms can be due to something serious. But, (and I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse) you just described a classic panic attack. Don't be surprised if the doc tells you it was just anxiety. Feel free to message me if that's the case and you want perspective from a 15 year veteran

I've had panic attacks like that... I've also had it from my period being super painful and got sent to A&E! I hope it's something similarly minor, but do get checked out just to be on the safe side. Hope everything is ok
