Hi again all. I lost weight doing alternatives over the summer. Need a bit of a reboot (like 5 lbs)
Last summer I used MyfitnessPal app with much success. It really helped me stay on track when I had to log everything.
Between the update and my friend accidentally deleting it while holding my phone, I had to start anew. I tried to use it and found it more cluttered and inaccurate than when I used it almost a year ago.
Just looking up egg white, produced dozens of results, all with very different numbers. So frustrating.
Is there a site or app that is more accurate numbers wise?
I use "My Net Diary"...I know lots of people use MFP and if I had gotten into it before "My Net Diary" I'd probably be using it too now.
I have an ipad and use it at home to pre-input my meals a day in advance or while I'm eating breakfast plunk the meals in.
I thought I'd give My Net Diary a try (because I'm not thrilled with MFP), and I like the look of it... but it looks like I can't customize carb/fat/protein percentages (which isn't very helpful in Phase 1 of IP) unless I upgrade to a paying membership. Is this true, or am I missing something?
I use MFP and even tho the others sound great, I really don't want to switch b/c I have meals and recipes saved there.
I've learned how to search for new items to find the non-user added ingredients, which are the most accurate. User error frequently results in the inaccuracies.

Yeah I think you can't do those customization's without the Pro version, but honestly, I think the Pro version is worth it in the long run.
I used to use FatSecret and found that reasonably friendly. I switched recently to MFP because it merges with my new FitBit tracker automatically. I like that I can save recipes and meals without having to log them in my food diary (so for advanced planning). I like the exercise options too. With FatSecret or MFP, there are options to print / PDF a copy of my food journal for the past week so I can send it to my coach instead of giving her a physical food journal. Both apps are usable on my iPhone, iPad or desktop computer which is convenient for all situations. Both have bar code scanners.
Any app that you use, it is a matter of getting used to the food logged and figuring out which one is the best one to select. I.e. searching for chicken will give you lots of options that you have to negotiate through to find boneless, skinless and the measurement options that you're familiar with (g vs oz vs cups)
