Default Calories!!????!!

I am not a big fan of diets and I feel like I need some sort of structure, I will go crazy with the calories. I exercise pretty much every day, and I wonder what a good calorie range for 1-2 pounds a week loss would be? I weigh 142 and I am 5'4". I am thinking 1500 calories a day? Is that too little? Too much? I just don't know! It is too confusing. And, I never, ever feel like I am making any progress. The lowest I have ever gotten is 135, and it seems as thought my body won't let me get below that.

Sorry for such the rant! But, i would love to have any input at all. I just don't know what to do!

1st what you need to do is find out what your BMR is..... you can go to this site to figure this out.... (just give them bogus info if you want as far as your email address). This will tell you how many calories you burn a day....

http://www.jimkaras.com/loss_math01.cfm

1# = 3500 calories.... to lose 1-2#s a week you have to burn 500-1000 calories a day more than you take in....

So take your BMR - (500-1000 calories a day) + exercise = calories to eat in a day....

Hope this helps you!

Angel is correct on the 3500/wk = 1 lb weight loss......here is a link that has many different calorie calculators, one will figure the calories your body needs to maintain its current weight, then just create deficit in calories, through excersice and diet to achieve the 1-2 lbs a week. (500 - 1,000 a day) ... Sounds easy, huh?

Good Luck!!!

You can also go to www.dietitian.com and use her calorie calculator.
