Default Smooth Move Tea???

OK, NOW this is becoming a problem. I had a cuppa of the magic brew on Wednesday and felt great. Friday I had lots of gas and today am heading back to the same issues. How often do you use this tea?? I don't want to have to drink it regularly to stay regular.

I had the opposite problem at the beginning and now this is becoming the norm.

What has worked for you and how bad has it been for you dealing with constipation????

I've only had a problem with it once and I used metamucil (always works for me the day I use it).

Hope you feel better soon!

I have a cup every 2-3 days or so... And when I drink it in the morning, it doesn't sit well. When I drink it right before bed, I'm fine, and good to goooo in the morning. I've found lately that eating cauliflower (making cauliflower rice) seems to help a lot...and the more salads (lettuce) I eat, seems to help.

Chia seed, chlorella and spirulina keep me going everyday once a day. You could time my bowel movements to every 24 hours. I will get constipated when I miss my dose. I had to gradually work up to 2tbsp chia and 3000 mil spirulina and chlorella to avoid gas. I never get gassy. I love how chia kinda of curbs any late night hunger I might have.

I had some issues with the big C a couple of weeks ago. The first couple of times I used the smoothe move tea it was pretty mild. The third time was really intense. It definitely cleaned out my system, and everything seems to be regular again. If I feel like things are slowing down again, I will use it but only drink 1/2 the cup at a time.

First time I used Smooth Move it worked great the next day. This week I had a cup on Wed, Thur, then this morning and things finally started working this afternoon. Of course I had problems before starting the diet so I might not be the best one to use for an example.

Certainly one of the points made on some of the other threads was to make sure you steeped it the correct amount of time and that too much might make it work too well.

I am very interested in chia seed, a friend of mine sells Mila, but I still have a ways to go on phase 1. It is definitely on my list of a maintence lifestyle.

I should have clarified Smooth Move works for me, but the constipation is becoming more regular. I go through heads of cauliflower and lettuce a week.

Scorbett recommends psyillium pills as well for constipation. I think you get them at the health food store, whole foods or GNC. of course Wal mart prolly has them as well

Ive found I have to drink a half a cup ever 3 or 4 days to keep things moving. If I dont then I wind up very uncomfortable and when I finally do drink the tea there is no smooth about it!

I have noticed that since moving to phase 2, things are "moving" a little better. I am suspecting the C issues are just part of the process in Phase 1, so it makes sense that it would be more frequent the longer you are in P1. I usually do fine with some Smooth Move, you can also use psyllium husks or metamucil...but I've definitely had a few instances where I needed something a bit stronger, either Miralax or Ex Lax. But because those stimulate the colon I always kept those strictly one-dose and only when the tea wasn't helping.

My husband uses chia seeds for hydration on long runs. He buys them at MB near the baking mixes or even Ocean State Job Lot. I believe it is Red Mills brand. If neither have them, Down to Earth in NB always has them. I will likely add them at some point, probably when I am closer to goal.

Hey S I thought of you last night when I was giving a patient Orange metamucil. Can we use the orange flavor?? (Cause I was told you were the gal in the know about the psyllium husks.)

Also why can't we use something like Benefiber??

I am much better today.

I think a cup of Smooth Move is in order tonight. Feeling rather disgusting the last few days (the big C) and haven't seen the scale regularly move in the optimal direction for about a week now. Hoping this gets me back on track!
