Default Do you gain weight during your period?

So I just got my period and went up 2 lbs!!?! Does this happen to anyone else? So frustrating...

Also, does anyone have any tips or suggestion on how to deal with cravings? I'm so hungry! I definitely lost a bit of self-control & went a little over my 1,500 calorie budget today... I feel like a ravenous bear who hasn't eaten in a week! I'm pretty mad at myself that I fed into the fried food cravings and had a few mozzarella sticks

I did not gain any weight this time with my period. I was definitely more hungry. I'm a calorie counter too so I just ate air popped popcorn low cal and keeps your hands busy and your mouth! lol If i wanted something sweet I ate an individual sized apple sauce

I showed a gain of just over 2lbs. this morning and my TOM started today... Sometimes your body just retains water during TOM, ugh!

Interesting article on it...

Water retention during the week leading up to your period and on into the beginning of your next cycle is completely normal. Fluctuations of the same manner are often seen around ovulation, too.

Just keep your plan on track and the scale will sort itself out. You can't control how much you weigh on a given day except by the choices you make - your period isn't a conscious choice, a second helping of dessert definitely is. Focus on behaviors and you WILL get to your goal, even with some weeks of no losses or gains along the way

Weight loss isn't linear. It's barely a downward trending scatter plot for some of us, unless we take a veeeeery long view of the data!

I do, but then I have a big drop when it's over. Knowing that whatever it appears I've gained will drop on the scale along with some extra weight if I've stayed on track keeps me from being too bummed about it.
