Any good nutrition bars for us sweet eaters???
I have an awful sweet tooth that is usually satisfied with Slim Fast Peanut Nougat (2 points) or the Slim Fast Peanut Butter Crunch (3 points) bars. I also like the Snicker Kudos bars for 2 points.
I recently tried the Slim Fast meal replacement Strawberry Cheesecake bar and thought it was okay, but not worthy of 4 points.
Yesterday I tried the Breakfast and Lunch bar by Slim fast in the peanut butter flavor and hated it. Totally awful!
Any one else have any snack favorites, ones that aren't worth the paper their wrapped in? Please post

snack bars
I like the Kelloggs Special K bars (strawberry) they are 90 cal and only 19 carbs. I am type 2 diabetic and I sometimes have these for a snack---dont know how many points these would be since I dont do weight watchers.
I look at these snack things in the store, but sometimes the carbs are to high. I read the labels and really watch my sugars.
These are so good, and not many calories. They also make one from frosted flakes, that is good also

Finding a good snack bar
One of my favorites are Pria Bars ...most flavors @ 2 points a bar.
I also really like Kashi Bars ...they're big and filling ...5 points a bar, but 1/2 a bar takes care of the craving, and 1/2 a bar is as much or more than the 2 point WW bars, or Kudo's (which I also like).
Hope this gives you some ideas!

Hi,
I have tried the slimfast peanut bars and dont like them that much at all either. But I do happen to like the Balance bars. They come in all kinds of flavors for example, chocolate crunch, smores, peanut butter etc. I love those things for a sweet craving.
I believe they are like 5pts though. But I look at it this way, if I really have to have something sweet thats just like a candy bar Im having a balance bar. The prices vary from place to place. I have seen them in stores for $1.79 a bar, but WalMart has them for $.96 a piece.
Good luck on your search,
Terri

Oh yes! I like Balance Gold as well. Very good nutritional profile on them -- just about as good as the Myoplex Lite bars.
But I forgot my favorites! Zone Perfect bars! Sam nutritional profile as Balance Gold, and some really excellent flavors.

Clif Bars
Ok..my favorite is The Clif Bar in Cranberry Apple Cherry. It is 220 Calories, 2gm of Fat, and 5gm of Fiber. For those interested, it is 44gm of Carb, 22gm of Sugar and 8gm of protein. They are moist and chewy and sweet (with cranberries, apple and cherry pieces). I like that they have 5 gm of fiber too! I think they are either 2 or 3 points, I cant remember. Also, they are quite filling. I like them for breakfast with some fruit!

Bars
I've been "addicted" to various bars over the course of my "weightloss journey":
*Zone bars: They're my thing right now. Big bar and lots of protein for 200 cal, so I sometimes eat one for breakfast when I decide to get up too late to make something. Sam's has them in boxes of 12 (?) for about $10-12.
*Balance gold bars
*Kashi bars
*Balance Oasis bars (the cinnamon/raisin and the lemon were my faves)
*Luna bars (chocolate peppermint stick, pecan pie, etc.)

Yeah, I'm hooked on Zone Perfect bars too. We recently found some new ones: Bionutritional Research Group Power Crunch Bars. They're like those wafers with the creme in them. Yum! 185 calories, 13 gm protein

Pria and Lunas...yum!
My current favorites are Pria Creme Caramel and Double Chocolate Cookie. I also like just about every Luna bar out there. The Lunas generally run about 4 pts to the Prias 2 pts, so I usually go for the Pria.
When I lost most of my weight on LA Weight Loss, we had to eat their brand of nutrition bars, and they were very very good. My favorite was the Honey Nougat. I'm not sure if you can get them if you're not on the program, though. They're between 4-5 points, but they're very filling and satisfying.
Darn! Now I have a craving for a Honey Nougat Double Chocolate Creme Caramel nutrition bar!

"Detour, U-turn and One way bars are really good too"
These win hands down for me. I cut them in half (the bars are truly huge) and for three points I get fifteen grams of high quality protein that kills my Snickers craving.
You can buy smaller versions in WalMart or Target but I get them over the web with free shipping.

Pria bars are the bomb!
I've tried Balance and "The Zone" bars.... they're ok as far as energy bar goes, but they get stale & hard FAST! can't imagine someone with dentures or partials going through one of those after a couple of weeks (I go to Costco for my energy bar purchases)
I think Pria Energy bar (Powerbar) is the bomb right now. It's at 110-120 calories per bar and contains 23 vitamins and minerals, not 100% tho. It tastes like a chocolate/yogurt covered granola bar with barely any soy protein aftertaste. Combined with water, two of those make a filling meal. Or just have one as a snack to satisfy chocolate/vanilla/caramel cravings.
Best of all, it seems to be resistant against staleness.

My main problem with Pria is that they have very little protein per calorie.
I tried Dr. Phil's bars last night and found they are actually really good, and have lots of fiber.
