I read your blog post, and it was such a lovely honest look at how your journey has affected your husband as well as yourself.
My experience with this is: I finally got my weight into a normal range (high 130s). This took about 5 years. Toward the end of my weight-loss journey, I met a wonderful man. We're living together and planning to marry. The thing is, he's very close to underweight - he is tall, very lean but muscular, without the slightest bit of fat. So he can do things like eat half a bag of chocolate truffles for breakfast (and yes, he actually does this, and it's a big bag). He constantly bemoans his inability to gain 15 pounds. Meanwhile, I am still watching my intake closely.
It's funny but even this discrepancy can cause some strife. Meals are a form of communion as they say, and sharing food together is a bonding experience. If one partner cannot or will not eat what the other will, it can cause turmoil. And my partner simply cannot understand why my body won't let me eat multiple chocolate croissants for breakfast without repercussions. Because his body has no problem with that!
