School starts again tomorrow... eek!
I've just been appreciating how stressful my job is (after returning from several days off around the holidays). January is especially rough since we have several time sensitive projects.
Anyway, work aside my next quarter of graduate school starts tomorrow and I'm nervous! I'm taking two classes which meet twice a week after work and it can be super challenging to eat healthy whilst rushing around all of the time.
Stress and having no time are both great excuses to lose track. I guess I just wanted to tell someone (bunches of people) so I'd be inspired to live up to something and stay away from the junk food, vending machines and greasy happy hour snacks (and drinks) with classmates!
Here's to a new quarter.

I hear you. My quarter down here starts too. For some reason my brain has to eat while in class. Not sure why, it just does. I feel odd and yancy if I don't, I think this comes from not having the option to have drinks or food in classes in grade school. My boyfriend is in one of my classes this term and so that might keep me from snacking that class, the other two are going to be challenging though. YIKES! we can do this though!

My biggest problem is when I'm up all hours of night studying I get hungry because I have dinner so early.

Some things that help me as a full-time nursing student/part-time CNA:
*pack my food/water for the day ~ I always have a salad with salmon for lunch and bring fruit for my snacks; I fill my water bottles at night before heading to bed
*split up my exercise time ~ I exercise 20 minutes in the morning before I shower & 20 minutes in the afternoon as soon as I get in; the time in the afternoon helps to keep me from the munchies
*plan the day & follow the plan ~ It is not always easy, but that is why I have to plan.
Good luck and you can do this!!

Thanks for the tips. I like this idea about 20 minutes in the afternoon. I've been doing little routines with my 5 lb weights at night (mostly for distraction) and have found it helps a lot with munchies.
Hooray, us!

re:
I put on about 50lbs during grad school, so I can maybe give you a suggestion on what NOT to do, har!
What put those 50lbs on was the fact that I was STARVING by the time class was over (at 10:30 at night) and would just swing by whatever fast food place on the way home.
If I did it again, I'd definitely eat before class, even if it wasn't dinner time and bring a snack with me.

Snacking in class?!? Wow. I never even thought of doing that. I was really bad at stopping at the coffee cart between classes and shoving a pastry in my face before class started but I am an AVID note-taker so I couldn't imagine trying to balance food and a notebook and the book.

Yeah, my classes get out about that late too. It's tough to get home eat healthy and get to school but I do my best and my boss is very understanding which is awesome. I've started packing several snacks and several beverages--holding strong!!
And, thanks for the advice and support everyone!
