Starting the 30 Day Shred
Tonight will be my first night doing the Shred. If anyone else in interested in doing it, feel free to come on board.
I bought 3lb weights, found my yoga mat, and took my measurements which are:
Neck: 13"
Bicep: 11.75"
Chest: 33.75"
Waist: 34"
Paunch: 41.5"
Hips: 40.5"
Thigh: 23.5"
(the paunch, while not universally recognized, is the fullest part of my stomach and love handles *aka* the top of the muffin)

Awesome, ImImportant! Welcome aboard.
I wonder it if matters that I have to pause it a bazillion times during the workout? It takes me almost forty minutes to get through the 28 minute tape. lol. I do all the moves (girly pushups ftw!) but I have to pause to breathe and shake it out.
L1D1 complete

It doesn't matter. I have to stop a few times too and I totally follow the woman doing the girly pushups. I forgot how tough this workout can be in the beginning. But I'm in it now. Thanks for the kick in the butt.

Ok, I'm sore and I don't want to work out. I feel like the second I do a single lunge I'm going to fall over dead. And ya know what? TOO DAMN BAD.
L1D2 here I come! Correction: L1D2 COMPLETE.
I still took breaks, which makes me feel pathetic...but today I totally quit after the 2nd set of arm flys or whatever its called. Strength circuit 3. After like an hour I got up and finished the workout. lol. So lazy.

Hi!
Okay I just finished Level 1 day 1. OMG it's so hard but I finished. I took 2, 5 minute breaks. I was sooo tired. I'm so out of shape but I'm happy I did it.
Hopefully I can push myself to do it tomorrow. I took my measurements but I forgot where I wrote them down at, I'll find them and post them tomorrow.
Ok, found my measurements.
12/27/12:
upper arm: 17"
Chest: 45"
Waist: 36.5"
Belly button: 45.5"
Neck: 17"
Hips: 51.5"
Thigh: 32.5"

Hello, mind if I join this thread? Today was my seventh day of the 30ds level 3. I've been doing it every day and can tell you it really gives results: so far I've lost over 12lbs and I dont know how many inches but I've definitely toned up - I'm even starting to get abs!

Welcome, CaliforniaDreamer and Izzyd07! Its great to get more people in on this, the more the merrier!
12lbs is fantastic! I'd be thrilled if I lose 8lbs by the end. I tend to lose very slowly, but I generally don't incorporate any exercise in with my calorie counting.
L1D3 is done. Not going to lie, I hate every single second and still take breaks every two minutes or so, which is super lame. But I get it done. I took "before" shots after L1D1 and will post them along with "after" pictures when I've completed L3D10.
We've got this, ladies.

I loved the 30 day shred. I did it in November. It gave me great energy and pushed me farther. Good Luck with it.
However, I ended up with painful knee joints afterwards. That I still am battling with. If you feel anything wrong with your knees, be sure to skip that move. I wouldn't want anyone else to go thru what I am.
I look forward to when my knees get better to try it again. My guess is that my pain came from the lunges.

Thanks . Actually I just weighed myself and I should make that a loss of
15.6lbs. I've also been doing a C25k and working out on my treadmill so I can't put it all down to the 30ds although it definitely helped with toning... I'm regretting not taking my starting measurements now!

Did L1D3 again after work. Does it count as L1D4? NO. Because L1D4 is tomorrow after work.
Hiddenstar I have to constantly watch my form on lunges to make sure I'm not doing them wrong. I think it would help if I had a wall of mirrors I could stare into like at the gym. lol
CaliforniaDreamer I cracked and bought a new measuring tape because I couldn't find the one I KNOW I OWN. So my measurements (taken L1D3) are in the top post now. I'm hoping to notice a difference in them at the end if nowhere else.
Anybody else have a hard time with Strength Circuit 3: Side Lunges???
Its not that I can't do them because they're difficult...I'm just pretty sure I'm doing them wrong. It feels so freaking unnatural, like I cant get my butt back far enough so my knee doesn't go past my toes, if that makes sense? Ugh. No me gusta.

tinneranne2 I can't find my notebook I wrote my measurements down in (I used my sister's measuring tape and she's gone.) when I find it I'll just edit my post. side note, why did I never think to buy a measuring tape? oh well.
I finished L1D2, My calves are a little sore and so are my arms but I'm not in too much pain. All the jumping jacks kill me. lol but I feel accomplished once I finish the 28 minutes. So it's worth the pain.

I unexpectedly got the day off...and have not gotten out of bed all day except to eat and pee. Which is usually what I do with my days off...I don't really have interests or hobbies. lol.
The point is its after 10pm and I haven't done L1D4 yet. I don't feel like it. Which is too damn bad. I've gotta find my socks and shoes though since doing it barefoot has been tough on my toes. Ughhhhhhhh not feeling it today.
Update: 12:36am the Shred is my betchhhh. L1D4 complete.

I'm still here but I had to - or chose to - take a few days off due to unrelated back pain and cramps. I will pick back up as soon as I feel better. Keep going!
