Just sharing - in this particular part of the forum, we've taken the truly radical step of having surgery to help us control our weight. And for most of us, the results have been good - not perfect, but good. Yet, many of us still face these issues every day. But, as we discuss endlessly, our choice has been to improve our health - looking more 'acceptable' is for the most part a side benefit [even though it's welcome]. would LOVE to hear your thoughts.

I read the article. I am at a loss for words....sort of. The first thought that comes to mind is about the writer, who does he think he is, criticizing publicly like he did ? Is he judge and jury ? Where does he get the authority to judge others ? I would like to see his picture is he 6'2" at a perfect weight for his height ? I am sure he hasn't lost any hair and he must have 6 pack that most men would die for. He must just be a dream of perfection.
Re: the TV reporter I admire the classy way she responded to this individual .She was much kinder than I would want to be. She said it all when after his comments about her appearance she asked "Do you think I don't know that?"

This article made me so sad...like that big weighty epic sadness you feel when you realize the world is crap and not likely to shift it's common views in your lifetime. Education and being a good role model will be my tools to ensure my future children grow up in a world where this sort of skewed view of women is not tolerated.
