Arrow Starting the Keto Diet - 25.09.2012

Today, well tonight, I started the Keto way of life. I say tonight because only my dinner was keto (hadn't gone grocery shopping, was hungry etc .. what can you do?). But now I've my fridge full with goodness and feeling opthimistic. I'm 22 and I've been dieting since I was uhm .. pretty much all my life.
I've decided to write down my daily menu to have something to held accountable and I'm also hoping to get some advice, tricks, etc.
I have a really slow metabolism and the highest I ever dropped was 30 lbs on the Dukan diet , and that was in around 6 months.
But I can't really go on and off for the rest of my lfe, I gotta do something.
I'm feling pretty confident now that I'm joining the keto club.
So .. join me and let's be awesome together !

I also have a slow metabolism and just started low carb diet yesterday so there isn't any tips I can give you. If possible, I would eat most natural foods (non-processed) as it has personally made me so much more energetic and in a better mood (which can be hard for me when I'm dieting). I read that high fat makes you not hungry so I'm aiming for high fat as well.

I'm glad to see someone who is as enthusiastic about starting the weight loss journey. I wish you the best of luck!

To do a ketogenic diet you need to keep your fat level up. Cheese is great, but butter on meats is even better. I put slices of butter on slices of hard cheese, it's like having a cracker and butter with my tea.

menu looks delicious! Hope there was double cream in your soup?

I felt really horrible yesterday but today I am so much better. How are you doing so far?

I know about the fat level. It's supposed to be 60%fat, 30%protein and 10% or less carbs . but is so hard to keep track of that..i'm always scared that i'll go overboard or eat too little. anyways i love this diet, i get to eat a lot of food that would've been considered cheats on other diets .. like cheese and mayo and creaaaam .. i could eat that all day
there wasn't a double cream soup .. maybe next time.
Soo .. I see you've dropped a lot of weight.. Congraaaaats Was it all on Keto?

I have never heard of this diet! How does it work? For me I don't count carbs. I only count calories and I don't eat meat and use egg as protein.
