Hi!
I too am an emotional eater. I think what has helped me is to try and realize what I am putting into my body and ask myself if it is harming me or not, for example being aware of overeating during a mini binge and then stopping it.
Perhaps you can try and ask yourself: Am I truly hungry or do I need something else instead (like talking to a friend, taking a few deep breaths, going for a walk, etc)
What are some coping skills you can use to help you out?

-take a drive

-taking a nap

-take a break
-creative visualization
-take a nice long bath
and a few of mine, -watch a funny movie and -color or doodle
