Hi Turtles,
I got a reminder from my WW buddy that when I overeat the scale doesn't always shoot up right away. Also, once I get my eating in line the scale doesn't always recognize the eating change and gets stuck. But, and this is the important part, when I allow myself to get a bit hungry, when I keep on track and eat the 1200 calories, *I do lose weight.* No matter how slowly it goes on, no matter how impossible it seems, it does still happen. So, I wish all of us and to remember that it doesn't have to be miserable, it just has to be consistent.

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but I wish all of us a great day and a lovely and OP weekend!

Hi everyone - I overdid it abit on weekend, I was away at Elvis Fesival in Collingwood for 2 nights and had a great time. Seen lots of Elvises and weather was awesome. We cooked all our own meals except 1 dinner out at Greek restaurant, so other than a few extra munchies I think I did pretty good.
Hope everyone is back on track after weekend.

Hi Turtles,
Wow! Bandit, your weekend sounded like so much fun. It's great you were able to cook most meals. Always better than eating out as far as calories.

I've been having busy days that end up with us having surprise meals out....just doing a lot. The good thing is that our menus now list caloric count and it seems like the count is close to real since I haven't gained weight the way I used to eating out. Finished up the living room by buying new curtain panels and sheers. It looks comfortable and finished and I like the way it turned out. The paint was still good and the carpet and by switching the den and living room furniture I got a new look without the hassle of having to buy too many new pieces. Just bought one chair. I'll think about new side tables once the dust settles, but honestly it looks fine the way it is.

Staying on track and tracking my food. Slow and steady. I want this weight off and I'm not a patient person!!! Lol.

Sending : and to everyone. Now I know why so many gals at my local WW mtg. drop out of WW in the summer. We'll see them all back again in the fall.
I don't want this time I have to go by without losing weight. Princess, thanks again for the motivation to do this!!!!!
Judy

Good morning all and happy Wednesday - I am on track with food but have not been able to exercise and wont be able to for a while. I looks like I did more damage to my neck then previously thought - I go for an MRI today so we will seel.
They have me on a steroid pack to try and lower the pressure and therefore the pain and they have changed my pain meds so I sure hope to get some relief soon.

Being in Onderland is good just hoping I can keep it with the steroids... LOL, they are never kind to me.

Judy: I just love working around the home and I am sure you are enjoying your time doing that now, have fun and I am sure it is going to look wonderful when you are done!

Bandit: Your weekend sounds like it was a blast and over all you made good food choices.... go you!

Has anyone read any new books or anything lately?

Hey Gals!!!!

Princess I love your American Health Care System getting a MRI so fast is wonderful!!! Here you would wait 2 months and probably have to see a specialist to get one ordered, hope you start feeling better soon!!!! And concrats on onderland!! I am reading the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy! Interesting reading!!!!!!
Bandit You are always on the go!!! Have heard of the Elvis festival sounds like fun!!! I am sure you are looking forward to the long weekend at the trailer!! I know I am!!!
Judy Sounds like you have the knack for interior design being able to change up the furniture with only purchasing a few pieces but having a whole new look!! I wish I was that talented!!!

I have been keepin at it!! YMCA 2 mornings this week, My older son has moved back in for a month or two, until he gets a new place his roommate moved to Toronto for work so he needs to find a place!! Our tiny house just got a lot smaller. I am sure he doesnt want to be here to long and will be a good house guest!!! Heres hoping!! He is a trained chef!!! I am sure we will getting some nice meals, he also needs to shed a few pounds so if his work schedule matches with mine he would like to go to gym and walk with me.

Have a great Wednesday Gals!!!

Morning, turtles:

Princess - keep up the good work and hoping you feel better soon

Judy - nice job on the decorating & always nice when you don't have to spend a fortune doing so!

Terri - Nice to have your son around for awhile even if it is abit cramped, time goes by so quickly so hope you enjoy some gourmet meals that fit with our schedule. The festival was fun and one of the things I always wanted o do.

Went to trailer last night after work & my dd was there & we both stayed the night which was fun. Got in a big walk after our plan friendly dinner of big salad and roasted chicken, then air popped popcorn for night time snack.

So, back on track and my goal is to really be mindful when choosing meals.
Too easy to keep saying "this/that is treat" and keep going round & round.

All - good luck at the scale!

Oh gals,
Princess, weigh to go getting into onederland! I hope the meds are kind. I know you'll do everything you can to keep on keepin' on. Feel better . We're all pulling for you.

Bandit, love your words about what is a treat and how many of them we can have. Makes so much sense. Glad you and dd had a great time together.

Terri, enjoy having your son home. A walking partner is so cool!

I'm getting close to switching over to Filling Foods or the old Core program.
Turns out I had a procedure that required eye drops.......never knew they were steroids and after 6 weeks of really good dieting I found out. No wonder my scale didn't move in the right direction. ugh. So, I'm off them now and am hoping to continue my good work to see a drop on the scale

As far as books, I just read Heft by Liz Moore. It's about a morbidly obese man and the characters who enter his life. I thought it was really good.

Congrats to all of us for staying with our program, working hard, exercising and eating right. We're doing great. We are doing this.

Morning, ladies

So the past few weeks I basically stayed same at scale (even with overdoing it) but last night at ww the scale was up 2# although I had a fairly big lunch which might have contributed. But I was disappointed of course.
Anyway, just goes to show we can squeak by at times, but eventually it will show up at the scale.

Have extra long weekend to challenge me but really going to try and get in some extra walking. That I have not been doing as much as I was, so am sure that is playing in role in my gain.

Anyway, enough complaining and I will just get on with it, be accountable and move on.

Have a great day!

Hi Everyone! Quick update here - I had to rush DH to the hospital yesterday afternoon as his Diverticulitis was flaring up and the meds were not working he was in the operating room all night last night for them to repair the colon that was perforated, the surgery went well and he will be in the hospital for a while with a longer recovery and lots of challenges and we need to get past the danger of infection yet because he did rupture internally... so I am working from home and the hospital room for now and coming home to sleep a bit and tend to the dogs.

The thing is that I have lost my appetite which I never do! LOL - I have to make myself have a yogurt or some toast for the past two days but I am sure that will even out... ugh, that if why I am a Weight Watcher forever.

Will post when I can - good luck everyone!

Oh Princess,
What a miserable thing to happen. I'm sending prayers for a good recovery for your husband. I'm so sorry this happened. Please know we're all thinking of you and sending : and to you and your husband.

I'm frustrated because I have been sticking to 1200cal/day and the weight still hasn't budged. The drops my doctor prescribed for my eyes were steroid drops........and I'm thinking here I go again. I know most people who have steroids gain weight so I need to be thankful I didn't do that. However, I'm working so hard......have been working so hard for the last six weeks and I'm actually up a bit. Whine, Whine, Whine......I know so many people have it much harder, but I'd like to catch a break.
All I can do is keep on keepin' on. I've changed up my food a bit closer to Filling Foods and Core and I'm hoping that will help. Also coming away from the eyedrops may help as well.

Sending : to all of us. Yep Bandit,.....I know what you mean about "getting away" with an extra bite here and there and all at once it comes back to bite us on the scale. Sending and to all of us to keep this going and to use these next weeks of summer well!!!!

Terri, keep up the good work at the gym.
Cherry, keep on doing what you're doing!
Life4, are you working this summer? It must be such a relief to have school over.

Good luck to all the turtles!
Love,
Judy

Good morning everyone - just a quick hello here, I have been eating more this week so I am not sure that is a good thing as the scale is not moving at all but right now it is not my priority but I am still trying to keep myself healthy and would be happy with staying the same.

I am sure missing my cycle classes though, what a great stress relief they were. I go to the spine doctor today and will find out the results of the MRI - eager to hear what he has to say.

I also am reading the Shades of Gray books, kind of stalled now but I will pick it up again soon, just don't really have the time right now.

Hope everyone is enjoying their week and doing great!

Judy

I missed going to WW mtg. so I went back today. It was good to see friends. Smaller mtg., but I think that's what happens in the summer.
Good luck to all of us!!! Keep thinking thin!
