Default University Course at 77!

Am in the process of doing a university course on Law and hoping to eventually get a degree.
Just wondered if there was anyone else starting or have done a uni course at my age?

I know plenty of people who have. They are now very successful. I had a few in my graduating class and they absolutely loved it!

Our university has a Lifelong learning program where even if you have a degree you can continue to take classes.

Also, in the art program, there's a guy taking classes (assume degree oriented) who is probably in his 60s maybe 70s.

My aunt is non-degree seeking but off taking college classes. She's 70.

So way to go! Degree seeking or not -- learning at any age is cool.

In my grad school classes we had 20 somethings fresh out of college all the way up to grandparents. Was a wonderful mix. I plan to go back for art classes eventually.

Nope, but when I'm 77 too, I'll probably be back to college too. ^_^

That's so awesome. I've had the best in class conversations with the older students in the class!! Good for you! Talk to the youngsters, you'll find some who really want to talk and learn from you!

Good for you! I can't say that I know of anyone your age taking classes, but when I was in college there WAS one guy in his 60s or so who was still in the marching band and an active member of the band fraternity (I thought that was pretty cool until I realized that he still went to all of the frat parties and hit on the girls who were a more traditional college age). Taking classes to further yourself is considerably less sketchy than that though Good luck!

There is an older gentleman at the University here that has been taking courses for a while...not sure if he is going for a degree or not but he has been there since my son and daughter have been.

I'm not at that age yet, just turned 53 in May and on the 20th I will be starting school to get an Associates and I am VERY excited for this new journey in my life.

Kudo's to you for going to school...it is NEVER too late to learn!

Thanks again everyone for all the good wishes,
Had a nice surprise today as I recieved the marks for my latest assignment and scored a 44. Not terrific but at least it is a pass. My new tutor's remarks were very encouraging too so feeling a lot more positive about the next upcoming assignment...
