Default First hurdle and I came out a winner

I met my parents out at a restaurant. I was not sure how this would go but agreed. I checked it out online because its know for its burger ect. I was able to find half a sandwich and salad. Then I found a nutrition listing for all their meals. woohoo. I had half a turkey melt minus the mayo and bacon. It was listed 580 calories. I am not sure how many to deduct for not having the bacon/may. That filled me up so I brought home the chicken cobb salad for dinner. That was 300 calories. All and all a good time and I was able to stay under my calories for the day.

Thanks ladies. I loved that they had the nutrition listing online. That way I could decide before going. I have not shared with my family yet about my weight loss goals. Not sure why. But I did not want to make a big deal about this in front of them.

My advice would be to keep your weight loss to yourself until it shows and people ask. That's what I did, and it was much less "pressure to perform" that way. Once people started to notice, I had no choice but come up with ways to handle the different reactions. However, my opinion is that it's best to keep it to yourself for as long as possible.

I agree, somehow it seems very personal to share my weight loss plans with people. Not really sure why. I know they would support me and all.... I have always been afraid of failure and think it might have something to do with that. I say keep it private for as long as you can. It is your journey and shouldn't be judged or commented on by others.

My 2 cents...
