7-10 day plateau
Did you experience this? I've been at the same weight for 3 days.. I'm hoping it's just the plateau they talk about in the folder.. anyone know how long it lasts?

I don't consider 3 days at the same weight a plateau. No worries just keep going and the scale should move in a few days. Plateau to me is when you're stuck for more than a month.

Good Morning!!
Recently I was stuck at 164 for a week and a half. I kept up my workouts and healthy eating and lost 7 pounds in the past 2 weeks! Our bodies do weird things sometimes!! It can be annoying but the scale will move!

ok, well there was a sheet from MRC in the packet that talked about the 7-10 day plateau.. so I was wondering if most people found that to be true

Yep... for me it did. Increased the water, changed my exercise, stuck to the plan and I got through it. I found that rest and water helped me with plateaus and not feeling hungry...

In a nutshell, what most of us have learned is that a plateau is more of a mental game than a physical game. If you can not let it affect you too much mentally and stick with the plan, the scale WILL start to move again and it will be big losses when it does.

I have been on a plateau, also. I stayed the same today at wi. I believe it is water retention because yesterday morning I was down a couple of pounds. So, I am going to exercise and drink lots of water and try very, very hard to stay op during all of the cook outs tomorrow! I have lost very slowly from the start, but this stall really frustrates me!

I may have hit a 19 day plateau
or maybe it was that I weighed in with jeans on instead of cotton capris. I weighed at the gym this morning and was down 3.5 lbs from my last MRC weigh in. The gym scale is usually a pound or two lighter, so I figured that I had lost again, but nope, when I went to weigh in at noon, I stayed the same. How disappointing, especially because I didn't cheat a bit. We didn't go any place for the 4th, so my menu was as it should have been.

Thanks everyone and I'm sorry for those dealing with the same thing..
I'm still at the same weight going on Day 8 now... I had a mini breakdown at MRC yesterday.. It's just really hard when you're doing everything right and being 100% OP and you don't see anything. But they said the same thing as JenB.. it's a mental game. They are convinced my body is having a very hard time adjusting to such a radical change in eating that is just in a holding pattern, basically waiting for me to quit this diet and go back to what I was doing before. I'm going to really try and amp up the water some more and see if that makes a difference. I'm at about 96oz a day right now

anjy99 - Dieting to me is about 95% mental too, so you can't let a plateau get to you. Keep eating as close to the program as you can and feel good in the fact that you are trying your best. I firmly believe that a scale is the tool of the devil and we depend too much on what it says. We shouldn't let a little machine control our attitude! Maybe you are losing inches and not pounds during the plateau and that is worth something too. In my opinion, you should not weigh yourself more than once (or twice) a week and just keep on trying to stay on program. Weight doesn't come on over night and it doesn't go off over night either. The slower that you lose it, the more apt you are to keep it off. I'm proof in the pudding right here!
You are already drinking lots of water and amping it up might help. Maybe change up your diet too if you are eating the same things day after day. I was also told that oranges and grapefruit can jumpstart things. Good luck and hang in there!

That's a good idea- stay off yours and only weigh on the MRC days. Long term, you will have to monitor at home, but for now, it can be soooo discouraging.

Thanks, Jen My counselor also said to change things up. She said one thing is to eat white fish for 3 days. She also said to eat berries for the fruit. The last time I tried mediquik, I gained. But, I have been thinking about trying it again. I did notice that it has a lot of carbs, so that may be my problem. Has anyone else had this problem with MediQuik?
