Default How long did it take for you to find something you liked?

It's halfway through my first day and everything I have eaten so far is just... blech. I really want to stick to this diet.

Just take it one day at a time. I quickly knew what I hated and what I really liked. Also over time your taste buds will really change.

I don't mean to be facetious but I quite liked the very first one I tried. From what I read on here I was probably lucky though, because I was allowed to choose my own packets, even for week 1. So while I certainly didn't know what each of them would be like, I did only pick things that appealed to me. I'm pretty sure the first packet I used was an IP cappuchino drink. It was delicious.

You will find things that you like in time and it is true that your taste will change. I remember when I went to the very first introductory meeting, they gave us a sample of the choc soy puffs...I thought they were horrible. However today I love them and have them once or twice a week . I like the choc drink packet as hot chocolate in the morning. I have had that for breakfast practically everyday since I started back in Nov .

I'm on day 12 and I know exactly what you mean. The second week was so much better than the first because I had picked the packets I knew I liked. My daugther and I are both on the diet, so we tasted each thing that the other ate. There were also a few times that one of us prepared a packet that we couldn't stomach, so the other one took it - if they liked it. We also threw out the ones that we hated. We each started with 28 packets but only needed 21 for the week.

This week we're only eating packets that we like, so it's easier than the first week. Just keep on keeping on. You can do it and with the weight you lose you'll be motivated to keep going.

I found that I really liked the chicken soup on the first day. I've been on this diet for three weeks now and just this week I found that I loooooooove the pina colada drink too!! So as you go you'll try different things and learn new things that you really like. But just stick with it

Couldn't agree any more with everyone who has replied.

The first several packets I had made me wonder if I would be able to stick through it as well. I persevered and have found several packets that I like, so I just picked up the ones I could handle for this 2nd week. (Thankfully, I got to a clinic in which they will allow me to switch items out and I don't have to buy the full box of one type!)

As everyone else has stated, your tastes will adapt and it will get better!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!

I have found that different spices can make what was at first taste awful now very enjoyable. The only thing I really don't like and can't find a way to "perk" up the flavor are the egg dishes and the chili.

Have fun experimenting and changing up the flavors.

Don't worry. You'll find something you not only like but actually look forward to.

Some of the things were nothing I wanted to order again, some were awesome and some were just okay. When you get a chance try new things, my clinic will often have things out to try when something new comes out.

Honestly, my first week I pretty much just put my head down and powered through the starter kit, I had 28 packets but only used 21 (3/day), I didn't have any of the 7 restricteds - so those were the ones I returned. My 2nd week I had 'okay' things, thankfully my 3rd week I found 3FC and the recipes! I am still trying out new things as I "forgot" some I liked and as I find new recipes I find new favorites - my clinic has a 'swap basket' that with a rotating choice of items. I actually just got a few Fine Herb & Cheese Omelets - usmcvet and NewPath are always raving about it I HAD to pick up a few packs!

I haven't even thought about how to change up the foods... Was blinded by the black and white strict-ness, I think. Thank you all!

OMG! I hear you! Those first 2 weeks especially for me was just trying to figure out "the routine" and timing all my supplements and meals! BTW, my mom had an extra 7-day pill sorter with 4 compartments/day she gave me that has helped me out tremendously! I just set that baby up on Sundays and don't have to worry about skipping, double dipping, etc any of my vitamins. I've added a few more (Biotin, Omega III) beyond the 'mandatory' ones, so it's great to have it all laid out for the week.

I added Biotin and fish oil about a month ago since my nails were getting so brittle. I must say my nails are very strong and grow nicely and my losses have since picked up quiet a bit.

Think positive about it, I expected the worst as far a diet foods go (they usually are disgusting). I just kept trying things until I found what was ok, and what I loved. I think I only threw out one packet and I could not make myself eat- Leek soup.

My 3 non restricted favs that i don't think I can ever get tired of are the chocolate ready made (in my coffee with sugar free peppermint coffee syup = peppermint mocha), yogurt drink mix -if you only add 4oz of water its the consistency of yogurt and I dip my cucumbers in it, and at end the night I enjoy a decaf coffee w chocolate drink mix.

I look forward to my IP packets and as I am getting closer to goal I worried I'm actually going to miss them!
