Default Steel Magnolias #18

Good morning everyone. I have sat and paid bills this morning, ordered Fortune more flea and tick meds (they are much cheaper online) and need to get to cleaning house, but don't know if it will get done today or not.

Jean: Have a nice weekend at the cabin and such. We are going to be a bit more busy than usual as we are supposed to go out to lunch with Kelly tomorrow, get the commissary shopping in sometime this weekend, and tomorrow night is Thomas's birthday dinner at Melting Pot. In between I need to get my downstairs cleaned. Oh congrats on the loss. I forgot to give you a big high 5!!!

Nothing else is going on here today except knitting on the sock. You all have a grand weekend. Faye

Talking Almost Bed Time

GOOD EVENING MAGNOLIAS

It got up to 93ºs this day. I have everything done but the soldering to my latest house which is a school house. The building is a beige color with a green roof and bell tower. I made the front door in red and it is going to go together nicely. I made the front steps out of some motley colored bumpy glass which goes well with the beige and green in the rest of the building. I will get to soldering it all together tomorrow.

We went out to our favorite place that we get our gardening supplies. Will had yanked out some old bushes around here and we need to pick up the new ones so that they can get into the ground someday soon. Our little willow tree is looking so much better now that we cut off the wind whipped top section. It will grow up nicely now full and beautiful. On paper when we drew it up it looked real nice. Now we shall see once it is happening. We stopped for lunch on the way to the nursery at Sonic and I only ate ½ of my burger and tater tots and threw the rest out. We went on to the nursery and picked up a tree (I don’t remember it’s name) that in the spring is a beautiful shade of green then in the summer it turns a lovely shade of purple then in the winter before it loses it leaves turns yellow. We also got the edging for the walkway out to that tree and will get the benches later. After we returned the trailer to our friend we stopped in a yard sale and Will got a neat divided plastic box full of electrical connecters, etc for 3 bucks. Tomorrow is Farmers Market for us where I can pick up the home made soaps I want.

I know when we get there our piece of that ranch in Texas is going to look like an oasis after we fence in a yard and put down turf and plant the flowers along the fence that we have planned. Our friend out there just retied after many years with the fire department and doesn’t have a hobby. The one of the college kids that has graduated has came home but she does have a job and definitely is not a dead beat. She is saving up for a place of her own. Her older brother graduated a couple years back and is now a fireman and has his own place and her older sister is still in college going for her Masters then for her Doctorate for she plans to be a veterinarian.

There is a pizza place right smack near the college that we have heard that serves a wonderful pizza so that is what we had for dinner this day. Since I had such a light lunch I enjoyed a couple pieces this evening and it is the best ever in this town.

DONNA FAYE Thanks for starting a new thread. I hope you got what knitting done that you wanted to do this day.

JEAN I bet you will have a sigh of relief when all those funerals are done. How is the weather at the cabin ~ any cooler than at your house?

PS the web page has started putting words in color and underlining them twice and when you click on them . . . it takes you to information on the words you have typed.

Have a great Saturday Magnolias ~ type at y’all later ~

Good Morning, Flowers! It is cooler and we've had a little rain this morning. I'm waiting to finish getting dressed for the funeral. We have another one at our church Monday, for a 50 year old teacher who dropped dead while fishing in the MN boundary waters with his kids. I don't think they are members but it will be huge and we have the space. I didn't know him since he taught at the middle school.

"Gma" -- I know you will enjoy your lunch with Kelly and the birthday dinner for Thomas. The Melting Pot sounds like an interesting place to eat. Commissary duty doesn't sound so fun.

Maggie -- It sounds like you have been busy. Wish I could see your glass village. I noticed the same thing with the underlined words on different web sites but it isn't consistent for me.

I need to double check my overnight bag and finish getting ready for the funeral. Have a nice weekend!

Aternoon, girls! We got through the commissary to the tune of $337! (We buy for two weeks though and I always keep ahead with things like laundry soap, shampoo, tea bags, stuff like that so I replace when I use one up even though there might be another one in the cupboard. That way I never run out of something. It was pretty quiet there today for once, though there were things missing as usual. They tend to change brands or dump things all together all the time so you don't know if you will find your favorite or not every time you go.

Man oh man. Starting on Thursday, I started bleeding. It is not spotting, it is like a period. I know that when the other gyn put me on Premarin, it caused me to have heavy bleeding so she took me off it and this seems to be the same thing in reverse. I am off the hormones and it has started up. I just pray it works itself out and just stops somewhere down the line. What a darn mess this has become. I am pretty fed up dealing with the whole thing for sure.

We came home and put everything away then headed out to CVS to drop a couple of Jack's prescriptions off, I bought T his birthday card for tomorrow and then we went to Genghis Grill for lunch. It is a good thing I hate flaked coconut as they have this coconut and pineapple mini dessert that is absolutely spectacular. I don't know how many pts the darn thing would be as it is about as round as a soup can and about half as tall. It is layers of coconut, sponge cake, pineapple filling and marscapone. It is really really good. Jack gave me a bite without the coconut.

Jack is sound asleep in the recliner at the moment and I am doing laundry up. He has had a bit of a relapse on his cold and was chilled when we got home so I had him take a dose of nyquil, and got him a big thick comforter and he is sawing logs already with the dog asleep beside him.

Funny story about the dog. First off, I have told you before the lady next door cooks something that is seriously foul smelling and when she does it permeates my house for hours. Well, before we left for lunch, Jack had all the groceries dragged in and I was finishing up putting them away. He was in the recliner with the dog beside him and I had gone to the restroom. He yelled at me "What is that disgusting smell?" I said it wasn't me as I was just urinating and I didn't smell anything. I washed my hands and came into the kitchen, which is where you smell her nasty stuff and smelled something and all of a sudden Jack yelps the smell is awful. Come to find out, Fortune was butt end towards Jack's face in the recliner and was letting SBD's (silent but deadly's as we call them) I got to laughing so hard the tears ran down my face because I had been subjected to Fortune's gas on more than one occasion.

Maggie: I wish we had a good hometown pizza place here, but Jack likes the chains like Pizza Hut and Dominos. When we lived in South Bend there is this mom and pop place called Rossinis in this tiny, tiny hole in the wall building. It only does carry out and only from 4 PM to 11 PM Mon-Sat. They make the best pizza I have ever had anywhere. It is absolutely fabulous. We probably won't have dinner since we had lunch a bit later than usual. If we get hungry it will be a sandwich for us probably.

Jean: Kelly had to cancel until they get back from vacation. I tried to tell her I thought she had too much to do since they leave next Friday for Amsterdam. The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant. I like it, but it is really expensive though. Thomas seems to love the place as we have had his birthday dinner there for at least the last 4 years. I thought we were going to go to the brazillian restaurant this time, but he opted for Melting Pot.

Well girls, off to knit on his sock. I am now at the heel so coming along. Have a lovely weekend. It is sunny and very, very hot and humid here today. Faye

Talking Sunny Hot Saturday

GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

Oh Magnolias this is one hot day for it is now 103ºs and the wind is blowing hot air for sure. We stopped by the Farmers Market and picked up some more bars of home-made soap from Simone and they are all different and look like works of art and I plastic wrapped (dust covers) them around but left the ends open so they can breathe and have them on a nice square alabaster tray. I have 5 in all that haven’t been used and they look so nice sitting in my bathroom. I am still using the bar I bought last summer to wash my hands. Guess it lasted so long because I also have a pump bottle of liquid dial by the sink. We just got back from her house where we went to deliver a glass gazebo to her and she gave us a partial tour of the place. It is huge with pictures on the wall of her ancestors for her family has been here in this area since dirt. We met her special needs son and Will gave her some helps on how to handle him since he used to be a Behavior Specialist he knows what he is talking about. We met her teen aged daughters and they seemed such nice gals. I think I will do some Christmas shopping from her shelves come the time to buy for the holidays. She has other bath products also and everyone needs to wash up don’t they; some more than others I might add. We picked up a fresh jar of local honey which I will be using in our daily drinks of honey and vinegar. Not much produce is out just yet but zucchini. I don’t know why they grow them so big. I prefer the smaller ones about an inch thick and these were at least 3 inches. Cucumbers were huge also and I prefer the smaller ones of them also. So we didn’t get any fresh greens this day.

I am going to solder my house together when I finish here while the animals are all snoozing. When I finish this school house I am going to make myself another gazebo since mine is gone now.

DONNA FAYE Looks like your system is being contrairy. I do so hope your doc can fix your up before your vacation. I think I would just tell them to yank the thing out and be done with it. But that's just me. I never even had a cramp so I don't have any room to talk do I. Still have all my parts except a gall bladder and a disk in my back that was removed. Looks like your knitting is coming along well now.

I hope all is well with you Magnolias ~ type at y’all later ~

Talking Sunday On The Scorching Hot Side

GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

Oh Magnolias it is so hot here the birds have to use hot pads to get the worms out of the ground. 110ºs as I type and it isn’t even the hottest part of the day. We are definitely in a heat wave and it isn’t even August yet.

We went out to an Italian restaurant after church services this day and split an order of Fettuccini Alfredo with sausage. Half of a serving at that restaurant is plenty and oh so good. Lots of fresh greens tossed with only vinegar dressing and fresh baked rolls. Later meal this evening will be very light.

I am thinking about re-joining WW in June for I feel I need a shot in the arm of what goes on there to get me going again down to the road to thin. I am running out of steam doing this on my own. I will have to take a hit on my loss because I now weigh without my shoes on but I don’t take them off there. But I can handle that because our scales weigh the same.

I have three little blisters in the palm of my left hand where some hot solder got popped on it and it is fortunate that it didn’t hit where any crease is but on a flat part. It hurt like the dickens when it first happened until I got some aloe vera on it quickly and now have New Skin on the blisters and they don’t hurt anymore. I will just keep them covered with New Skin so they don’t get anything on them. A very hard place to keep a band aid on.

We have been discussing our plans of leaving here and have changed our minds do to some things we really want to do while here. First off Will really isn’t ready to retire and we don’t have to leave. We both like it here and can always visit our nice friends in Texas. After the Jeep is paid for we can get a small motor-home and take vacations from here. Suits me just fine for I was not looking to totally “downsize” again just yet. The time may come when we do ~ but it will be later than sooner. I kinda thought that Will would rethink wanting to retire just yet. Since I am not in a hurry to leave this area it suits me just fine.

I hope all is well with you Magnolias ~ type at y’all later ~

Talking Marvelous Monday

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS

Where is everyone? I feel abandoned . Ugh ~ it is fixin’ to get up to 105º this day and our thermometer in the patio will say it is hotter still. I am not a fan of such hot weather but can’t do anything about it so am not getting bummed about it. I took a shower when I first got up this morning and will just probably take another before this day is done. I may wear my skin out in the shower but at least I will feel nice and clean and smell good. Even after my shower the New Skin is still on my palm. I’ll peal it off and put on fresh though. The little blisters are flat now so it will heal fast. It doesn’t hurt and I won’t pick at it. I am rather excited about attending WW tonight and apprehensive at the same time. The meeting is at 7 pm so all meals will have been consumed so that will also be a difference for I will also be fully clothed and with shoes on for weigh in but so be it. I’ll not quibble about that and just take the weigh in number they give me and go down from there. Will has loaded money on my debit card today so I bought my WW pass on line and got my temporary one and will get the “real” one in the mail. Aren’t computers wonderful ~ that is when they are used properly and staying away from all the awful stuff that some folks engage in. So it looks like I will be going to WW tonight instead of waiting until the first Monday in July.

Cecil just let me know he wants to take a nap so I opened the bedroom door for him. Who has who trained I just might ask. I think he has me trained. The place where we got him has several Manx kittens to give away for I just received an e-mail about them. I will ask around to my friends to see if anyone wants one. There are some with tails, some without tails and some with stub tails ~ we don’t need another cat.

I got a gazebo cut out yesterday afternoon which I will finish up making today to replace the one that went to the “soap lady.” We just may have to put up more shelving because the ones are getting full now with the village buildings. I am thinking about making a Barber/Beauty shop next or maybe a Dry Goods/Hardware store. I have several others I want to make also. I’ll at least get a few more done before Christmas things need to be made. I’ll probably need to order some more glass.

I hope all is well with you Magnolias ~ type at y’all later ~

Good Afternoon, Flowers! It is sunny and breezy here this afternoon but is supposed to be HOT up into the 90s for the rest of the week. We need rain! I've been to church, then stopped to get the gift shop money, and made that deposit after lunch. They set up extra chairs planning for 500+ people to attend the funeral this morning. The funeral was at 10:30 and people were already coming when I left at 9. The family transferred to our church, from another local church a couple years ago, but had gone back to that church. The lunch was to be there and it is a much smaller church than ours so I don't know where they put people, or perhaps they thought they would lose some between churches.

"Gma" -- I'm like you and like to have things in reserve for when I run out. Bob, on the other hand, will let me know when he's used the last squirt of anything. I hope Jack and you are both feeling better. I have to agree with Maggie in "yanking" the thing out to solve your problem. I had to at your Fortune story. The grandkids all say, "who tooted?" Whatever cat lived here at the moment got blamed for the smell no matter who did it.

Maggie -- Please keep your hot weather! I hope you have a good leader when you go back to WW tonight. If Will still enjoys his job and volunteer work, and you enjoy where you are, then you should definitely stay put for awhile longer. Cecil sure knows where he likes to take his nap. He is one of a kind that's for sure.

I need to work on the laundry piles since I didn't do any this weekend! One down and several to go. Have a great rest of the day and evening.

Good afternoon gals. I have been working on getting the house cleaned. It is slow going but I am getting there.

We had a nice time last night at Melting Pot. We did a two booth sitting area and Jack and I were at the booth next to everyone else. We ordered a 4 course deal and it was very tasty. The first course is cheese and we had a cheddar and other cheese combo with Sam Adams beer in it. they give you fresh veggies, bread cubes, and granny smith apples. Second course is salad and I just had their house salad and dressing and it was pretty good too. Our third course had bourginoine cooking type and we had a tray with shrimp, chicken, beef tenderloin, beef teriyaki, and memphis bbq beef. We also had two types of batter stuff, we liked the tempura batter and then we had teriyaki, plum sauce, gorgonzola, and a couple others sauces to eat them with. Lastly, was dessert and we had this dark chocolate with marshmallow cream mixed in with oreo cookie crumbs and it was lit on fire. You are given fresh fruit, marshmallows, cheesecake, pound cake to dip it in. Of course this is not diet friendly by any means, but it was his birthday. We just gave him money and he seemed ok with that for sure.

I am coming along on the sock for Jack, but I have to get the darn thing done. I need to get the brown ones down.

Maggie: It is super hot here too and you open the door and the heat just slams into you. Thomas said the pool is warming right up! Hope your fingers are better. I burned the tips of my fingers tonight pouring water into the skillet making rice a roni as the steam burned my finger tips. I didn't end up with blisters or anything so they are all ok.

Jean: Wow that was some funeral. Sounds like what we encountered when Kelly graduated from high school. Jack is coming along. I haven't heard him sniffling and he says he is feeling better. I keeping my fingers crossed that what is going on is that this is all just the lining all coming off and it will stop in a couple weeks. I guess all I can do is wait until I talk to her on Thursday. It makes it miserable in the meantime.

Well, I want to unload the dishwasher and then sit and knit. You all have a nice evening. Faye

Talking Still Hot

GOOD EVENING MAGNOLIAS

It has finally cooled down to 102ºs from a high of 118ºs this day. It sure never got this hot last year. Well gals I went to WW this evening and took a bit of a hit but feel fine with it. At least I am smaller than when I was last there and lost instead of gaining. We went out to Applebee’s for dinner and I had one of the WW entrees. Grilled chicken with melted Swiss cheese on top, lightly steamed fresh spinach and rice with onions and mushrooms. This last meal was after weigh in so starts the new week. The same leader was there but a whole lot nicer and had a cute pixy new hairdo that goes well with her features. Plus she was very friendly with me and asked how I made yogurt cheese which is like Greek yogurt that can be done at home easy enough. It can be used instead of mayo in lots of things such as potato salad. If there is a finicky eater that only “has to have mayo” ~ if you put a tad bit of mayo with the yogurt cheese it tastes like it is all mayo. I now have all the handouts to go through and plan my upcoming week. I got the shot in the arm that I have been needing for my program. I did finish the gazebo this afternoon and have it sitting next to the house it matches. Tomorrow I can start on another building.

JEAN Yep Cecil is one of a kind. He sure didn't like going outside this day and I didn't blame him one little bit. The dogs stayed inside where it is cool also except when they needed to go out. Neither of us will mind at all staying here at all. I am so glad that the WW leader has improved her attitude for it makes it more interesting to listen to her. Nice.

DONNA FAYE Your Melthing Pot excursion sounds yummy to the max. I am just glad that these little blisters are in the palm of my hand and not in any crease ~ just a flat spot so it doesn't keep being irritated. The New Skin keeps it from getting any germs in it. Yep that hot steam coming off a pot can burn you good if you don't watch out. I like Rice a Roni and haven't had any in a long time. I will put that on the shopping list. We once knew a young married couple that said that they lived on Rice a Roni because they had a tight budget.

I hope all is well with you Magnolias ~ type at y’all later ~

Good morning, ladies! It's only 69 degrees right now.

We've been having terrible storms for the last 4 days but yesterday's was the worst. We had hail the size of marbles, trees and electric lines down, and flooding. It was 94 degrees and an hour later it was 74 degrees. A cold front followed the storm and made it worse.

The quilt show on Saturday was lovely. I love seeing what everyone is doing.

The cap came off my front tooth again yesterday (after having it put back on 3 weeks before) so tomorrow I'll be having a root canal and a pin put in and then the crown will be reworked to fit the pin. My old tooth had broken and there just wasn't much to work with. The dentist's office was very nice to move around appointments to get me in tomorrow. It's a very busy practice but I've gone to him since he graduated dental school 24 years ago.

Faye that Melting Pot meal sounded delicious but would probably be all my points for the day and the weeklies, too. I hope you get over this problem soon. I'd be in there demanding a hysterectomy. The grandsons are growing up so fast!

Jean, that was certainly a huge funeral! I hope you don't have to go to any more for awhile.

Maggie, I'm sure Will's parishoners will be glad you are staying longer. It's good you like small town living. I always thought I would since it was a small town most of my aunts and uncles lived in.

Have a wonderful day!

Talking Titilating Hot Tuesday

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS

It is 9:30 am it is and currently only 77ºs but will no doubt get up to the forecast of 112º or beyond this day. It is a good day to stay inside. I am currently enjoying my coffee this morning. I woke up with a charley horse in my “good” leg this day and boy did it hurt.

Will is watering the lawn early this day so it doesn’t cook. The tree we planted looks like it will survive quite well for it is doing very well. It is hard in this weather to keep the yard looking good. The apple tree we planted is doing well and the existing apple tree has lots of apples on it. When they get ripe I will be doing a lot of drying them for future use. They reconstitute quite well for different dishes or just eating them like they are when dried.

I am going to decide when I get off here what house I am going to build now depending what glass colors that will fit with what I choose. One more house and the shelves are both full so we need to put some more shelving up. I am going to look for a small train and a few lengths of track to put in front of the train station I will make. Just a small little train with a few cars will do.

Last evening at WW we were talking about Fair Food and had a little quiz on what points+ values were for each item. The Funnel Cake got most of the attention. I must admit I have never had one so I didn’t understand the vast appreciation of them at being 27 points+ each. I looked in my recipes and found that I have one that has a points+ value of 11. But have never made them because that points + value seemed high to me. That list will come in handy for those who attend the Fair this year and partake of the goodies to know what they are consuming in points+. I remember that my sister made funnel pancakes once when we were at the cabin when her kids were little, but they were just pancakes and not the whopping points+ value of the deep fried funnel cakes. I will no doubt finish out my life without ever having one at the Fair.

SUSAN We have just been hot without any rain which we would love to have. Sounds like your area is getting hammered. Isn't it nice to have the same dentist for so long and they will get you all fixed up soon. I really like the folks here in this area for they are friendly and have time to stop and talk for they aren't in a rush. Your quilt show sounds so nice. Isn't it just wonderful to see other ladies work displayed. Artwork is what it is. Eye candy.

I hope all is well with you Magnolias ~ type at y’all later ~

Good morning to you all. Like everyone else, it is hot as blue blazes here too. It makes it so miserable to even go out to run errands and such. I finished the downstairs so will tackle the upstairs again starting tomorrow. I have my gyn dr appt on Thursday, plus Fortune going to the groomers and picking up Marty in the afternoon. I have to pick up all my throw rugs, my trash can and clean out my bottom open pantry area as Marty pees on my rugs, tips over the trash can and gets in it and goes after the chip and crackers in the pantry opening. No bother, I just find it funny how different animals are. Fortune drives them nuts because he is hugely clingy always wanting to sit in your lap or right up next to you, which drives Kelly bonkers. Their trash is one of those pull out drawers and part of their cabinets and their pantry area is also part of their cabinets. She doesn't have throw rugs and they have laminate and tile flooring.

I am almost halfway down the foot now. I really need to knit more, but lately I have been just sitting like a blob. I am not opposed to the hysterectomy, but I have had 3 abdominal surgeries in about 5 years and to go through another one really stresses me out. I am just hoping all this stuff is just that lining coming off all at once. I guess I will find out something on Thursday.

Jack gets to order his tuxedo online today so that is one more thing for the cruise we can cross off. He was going to take two of his suits, then we talked about it and he really wanted to wear a tux. The ship rents you one for the whole week with shoes if you want and two tuxedo shirts, tie and such. It makes it one less thing we have to pack. I am expecting the tap strip to come in today. They aren't allowed on board per se, but this one has three outlets plus two usb ports and plugs in directly to a standard outlet. It doesn't have a cord and is about the size of a cell phone in length so Jack is just going to bring it onboard in his pocket. You would think they would provide more electrical outlets then they do in the cabins. There are lists of things not allowed on board, but actually this isn't on the list, we were just told by Kelly and Tom they tell you not to use them if they catch you. We plan on charging stuff up at night, then unplugging it and stowing it in our luggage during the daytime. It isn't like we are going to blow the ship up with the thing.

Maggie: Your weather is even hotter than ours is, but the humidity here is what really gets to you. I always loved funnel cakes at the fair, but they didn't have them when I was growing up. I didn't have one until I was an adult. We don't go to the fairs anymore. I hate dealing with the crowds. We don't go to the firewords here either for the same reason.

Susan: Darn, it is too bad about your tooth. Hope they can get it permanently attached this time. You are dead on right about Melting Pot. That's why we only go there when T has his birthday dinner there. Jack watches east coast weather because of the cruise and such. I am a nervous wreck about a tropical storm or hurricane developing around our sailing date. We didn't purchase the insurance stuff as it is so expensive so if they don't sail we lose the whole shebang, but that's the way it goes I guess.

Well girls, I need to go. I want to find a bite of lunch and then knit for awhile. I have laundry to fold and such too. Have a nice Tuesday. Faye

Talking Wonderful Hot Wednesday

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS

It is 10:30 am here and already 100ºs and they say it will get up to 113ºs this day. But it will cool down tomorrow ~ yep ~ down to a high of 110. I sure miss the cool sea breezes out west during the early hours of summertime which I grew up with. School would be out and I would be surfin’ & having fun in the sun. AH but now I am older and live in the beautiful ♥-Land of this country and am happy to be here. I think today we will go to the market and get a nice seedless round watermelon and get it in the fridge to chill so to have it for after dinner this day. This month is winding down quickly for in just a few days it will be July ~ then the 4th will be here before we know it. I found out something interesting ~ there is a company that makes reusable canning lids. I am going to have to find out more about them for I think it is a terrific idea. I sure hope our apples are surviving this heat for I don’t want them to baked on the tree but they aren’t quite ready to pick yet.

The animals sure don’t want to be outside these days. When we go somewhere Beanie always welcomes us home at the gate and he still does so in this heat. What a little camper. Ragg Mopp doesn’t come out of the house and I don’t begrudge him for staying in where it is cool. Beanie just has an exuberant way to show his love for his people. He is a much younger dog than Ragg Mopp though. Right now Cecil is in Will’s office up on his desk holding down the book he is reading. He lays right across it. Guess he doesn’t want it to land on the floor like most things he plays with. He is such a cat.

We are having hot dogs for lunch and I don’t as of yet have a clue what I will fix for dinner. I can go shopping in the freezers and come up with something that will be program friendly I am sure. Whatever it is will have time to thaw by dinner time. I have lots of fresh greens and tomatoes for a salad.

DONNA FAYE I think it is wonderful that you do baby sit Marty and deal nicely with his habits. Pets are precious. When my nieces and nephews were young when we were all up at the cabin high in the Sierras, my sister would make them funnel pancakes which were fun. But never did we have any deep fried funnel cakes. What day is it that is your departure day to go catch the boat for your upcoming cruise? I wish for you fair weather and smooth sailing.

I hope all is well with you Magnolias ~ type at y’all later ~

Morning gals. I have the ac off and just the fans on this morning so far. If I can save a few bucks, I am going to do it. Besides, I have had chills on and off this AM so don't need it on at the moment anyway.

I got a call from Kelly last night. Marty is very, very sick. She was going out and getting some stuff to give to him, but she called this morning and said he was at the vets because it was a rough night last night. He hasn't eaten in 5 days now, has diahrrea and I guess Tom found him under their pool deckhouse deck yesterday, which he has never gone under there. Jack says he is afraid Marty went there to die. I guess Jack had two dogs do that when he was a kid. Marty is very old, but all of this couldn't come at a worse time. They leave on Friday evening and there is no canceling this trip without losing thousands of dollars, besides their staying here won't make him better if he can't get better. If he can get better, we will just care for him and try to get him better while they are gone. I haven't heard back from her, but I seriously doubt the news will be good. He has a bad heart and not eating and having the diahrrea has to be a real drain on it. I feel so sorry for the family and for little Marty. I sat last night crying and praying for him that God would just let him go to sleep and not wake if he can't get better. Boy having pets is really tough, even ones that aren't yours.

Tomorrow is grooming day for Fortune and dr day for me. Hopefully, I can get some positive and not negative answers to what is going on with me. I think I am going to google some stuff and see if I can find any info on it myself.

You all have a great middle of the week. I will talk with you later. Faye
