I can understand this - it'd be so nice to just eat normally without having to put much thought into it, and the idea that I'll have to pay attention to my diet for the rest of my life is a bit daunting and depressing at times.
But think of it like this: no matter what you weigh or how you eat, you will still
spend the rest of your life thinking about it. Either because you're eating whatever you like and so feeling guilty and hating your body; or because you're being careful what you eat and focusing on maintaining a body that makes you happy. When it's put in such stark terms, I know which one I'd choose.
