Default Milk?

Going to start SBD tomorrow but have not yet received my copy of the book. Should come tomorrow though from Amazon.

My question: Looking at the Prevention site it talks about Phase 1 and that you can't have any milk.

Yet, in their Phase 1 sample meal plan it has decaf coffee with fat free milk.

Which is it? No milk, or yes milk?

I really love milk in my coffee and hope I can find the happy medium there.

thanks
Stef

WElcome to The Beach! There are lists of allowable foods at the top of this forum. They should help until you get the book.

Small amounts of fat-free milk are allowed - just not a whole glass with chocolate cake?

:lol Ruth :lol

I drank my coffee with about 1/3 cup of skim milk every morning when I did Phase 1. I lost 5 pounds the first week.

I think fat free or 1% is ok in moderation.

I am only on my 3rd day, but have been using Land o Lakes Fat Free Half and Half in my coffee. I only drink 1 or 2 cups a day. I cannot stand to have coffee with skim milk, I'd rather drink it black! Yeech!

Default Can you drink this particular milk?

In my area I can purchase this milk, which I love. It's made by Parmalat - "Skim Plus". It's in a purple, white and black carton. I would like to know if I can drink this on Phase 2. It has more protein and calcium than 1% milk and 0 fat. My concern is the sugar content. Please let me know what you think.

This is the nutritional info:

Calories 110
Total Fat 0
Saturated Fat 0
Cholesterol Less than 5 mg
Sodium 170 mg.
Total Carb 17 g
Dietary Fiber 0
Sugars 16 g
Protein 11 g
