Any penny-pinchers out there with suggestions of low priced, low carb foods?

Do you have 99 cent stores in your area? I am in So Cal. Many have fantastic produce sections. Giant heads of cauliflower for example or 4 packs of romaine hearts for $1. Also in the canned section - beans. If your freezer is adequate then look for on sale lean meats/chicken/fish and freeze in the size portions you want. The further you stay away from pre-packaged the better your wallet will feel, and your body as well
