Default Random Question: Starting Weight?

For those of you (like me) who have struggled with yo-yo-ing, what did you put as your starting weight on your 3FC profile? Highest weight? Starting weight when you joined 3FC? Starting weight *this time*? Something else?

My highest weight (excluding pregnancy) was in the 180s a few years ago. When I joined this board a few months after my second baby was born, I put my postpartum starting weight of 165. Late last summer I was down to 132. After two moves and some time away from 3FC, I'm back and unfortunately up a few lbs. I changed my "starting weight" to where I'm starting *this* time, but of course it doesn't tell the whole story. lol

I'm just curious how y'all handled the "starting weight" section.

i listed my starting weight as when i joined 3fc (151) and thus started this chapter of weight loss..lol. my highest weight was about 165. sooo, my ticker doesn't tell the whole story either, but i wanted to track my progress from the date i joined, and not overall.

ultimately, its up to you. do you want to keep track of/show your complete progress or just since you joined?

Look left - it's a bit of both.

Mentally I really only focus on my starting point for this particular round - but I think it's helpful for me to be mindful, especially when I'm frustrated, that I've come further than I thought. I haven't been my HW for many many years, but I think it still counts for something.

At first I had my weight when I started 3FC but then I just changed it to my highest ever to give myself perspective, cause then I think "hey in the long run, I did lose a whole chunk of weight and I WILL KEEP GOING."

I put it as my highest known weight. I've been working on getting fit and healthy for years, so I've worked hard to keep those pounds off. It reminds me of where I've come from

I started this part last year at 182, I started on 3FC at 160.

I picked the weight I began at when I started this journey. My highest weight was during pregnancy a few months before that, and was about 20 pounds higher. I haven't really stopped my weight journey over the last few years, so that has made keeping a start weight easy enough, as I only have two to choose from

I spent about 2 years (2009 - 2011) in the 240s, my highest weight period.

In November 2011 I weighed in at 234 in the doctor's office. Since my recent weight loss efforts began shortly after that, I chose 234 as my starting weight.

Mine is the weight I was when I re-started my journey at the end of January.

Like most others, I used my weight at the beginning of this round of weight loss as my starting weight. My lifetime high is 210.

My highest (non-pregnant) weight was about 160, when dd2 was a few weeks old 8 years ago. I lost the extra lbs and mostly kept them off for a couple of years, then got pregnant again.

My highest pregnancy weight that time wasn't any higher than 160, so I weighed 145 when she was a few weeks old. I lost down to 135, but then gained some. And slowly gained some more. Then over the past year I went from maybe 145 (scale avoidance) to 156 and climbing. Growing out of my size 10 pants kind of panicked me, as did realizing I was about the same weight as when I was 9 months pregnant, and that kicked my butt into gear. Now I'm on my way back down and dd3 is almost 5.

The benefit of having been slimmer a few years ago, is that I know that anything below 125-130 is not a realistic, maintainable weight for me.

I put my highest weight ever, which does happen to be my pregnancy weight. I know not everyone counts that but I do because I gained 65lbs during my pregnancy and it was all cheescake, NOT baby. Plus after giving birth to my daughter I lose weight but started gaining again and would've been up to that weight again if I hadn't had made some serious changes in my life.

I guess what I'm trying to say, is put a weight that you feel is your highest. Someone else might not consider it their highest but they are not you. Put what motivates you the most. If that means your most recent high, put that. If a previous high weight motivates you more, put that.

for me I used my highest weight which was 170. Though I had already lost the majority of my weight before joining 3FC.

ive easily maintained a weight around 205-210 for most of my adult life...but when i saw 230 on the scale after a winter of baking (and eating) that's what i chose as my starting weight when i began posting on 3FC...

ive seen higher weights, like 270 after the birth of my first son and 250 after the birth of my second son...but ive always managed to lose down to abut 210 and hold there...

lowest weight i had ever seen in my adult life was 198 and that only stayed for about 2 weeks one time....right now i'm holding at about 192 and have maintained below 200 since early december...but i'm still aiming for a lower weight than that...this is all uncharted territory for me now lol
