Default Scared and embarrassed

I had family come to visit and I didn't follow the protocol 100%. I ate foods that were not on the list. I had my ideal protein mango drink but cheated. I have read the posts about the cost of cheating and its consequences. I feel awful and wrong. I feel that I have failed. I am afraid to get weighed in although I have lost weight!? I am afraid to get in trouble with my coach/dr. Oh no! What have I done?! Any words of encouragement would be appreciated. I know that I made a terrible mistake and ruined it.

Think a out why it happened and be prepared for next time. Then forgive yourself and get back op immediately. No one expect everyone to be perfect all the time. You will be fine.

Awww you really shouldn't beat yourself up over this - it's not good for you! We're all and only human. All you have to do now is start your ketosis process again.. in 3 days you'll be back on track.

I've just now realised why the French have been maintaining a slender figure while eating the most rich and delicious foods in the world for all these years (I'm convinced that they've been operating on this knowledge and just haven't shared it with the rest of the world!! lol) Dr. Chanh explains it quite well in his online book when talking about the maintaining phase - the day after a gastronomic debauchery (aka decadent meal with wine, cheese and the works) all you have to do is start from square one for one day (no sugar, no carbs, low fat).

Just jump back on the wagon and learn from this experience. It's not the end of the world but if it becomes a pattern it gets expensive and demoralizing.

Don't let one mistake stop you from continuing. Get right back in there and you'll be fine. Don't be afraid of your coach. They are there to help you stay on track and give you encouragement. Stick with it. It is definitely worth it!

I too had a slip this past weekend, my husband brought chocolate suger free liqorice home....so I figured sugar free just one piece, no it turned into 6! But I woke up the next morning and got right back on track and told hubby if he dared to bring any no no foods back in the house he would die a slow death!

Funsun: What's done is done, so like everybody else has said, just learn from it and keep going. If beating yourself up burned fat, we'd all be doing it!

Lowrider: watch the sugar-free candies - I love licorice but the only sugar-free kind I've seen is made with malitol. This is a sugar-alcohol and while not technically sugar, it does raise blood sugar levels (unlike splenda or stevia or aspartame) and it can give you terrible stomach cramps if you have too much of it.

You are human and humans sometimes give in to temptation. You realized your error, so now move on, leave that behind you. It's a brand new day, hang in there!

Funsun.. Get back on that IP horse and ride!! I have found the diet to be a journey. Many speak of it that way. There are bumps and turns along the way. So glad you posted about it.
Don't let a mishap stop you. It is not the end of the world. It is not the end of weight loss. What will matter is your progress over time. Pledge to not let any thing or any one stop you in continuing on!!

There will be lots of hurdles on your path, just learn from them and move on, thats the best you can do.

I have a family gathering too this May longweekend, wish I could just stay home so that I am safe, but there is no way I can back out.

Don't beat yourself up. I had a few slices of BACON with breakfast last week when we were out to eat on vacation. It was awesome, my losses were less this week than I would like but I also know I need to pick up my water and veggie intake too. Just like a few have already said figure out why and learn from it.

For me it was the Buffet, I stayed away from all the carbs but caved with some bacon. Do this for you. You are worth it.

Don't let it get you down! Trust me - I accidentally cheated (didn't realize there was cheese till it was too late!) and beat myself up over it. After I talked to my coach I realized it wasn't as bad as I thought and she was really supportive. Plus the people here help with the advice and support! Just keep going and don't give up You'll make it!
