Default Flakes of ham

HELP!!! Do you think we can eat flakes of ham, chicken, turkey? I am soooooo in love with these. I just made myself a lettuce wrap with red onions and flakes of chicken and it was absolutely delicious. Let's just hope I didn't screw this up. By the way, it was low sodium. And I ate a whole can. What do you think? Thanks!!

I know that I have chicken, turkey, and pork loin on a regular basis so the actual protein sounds fine. And I know a lot of folks split up their protein allowance throught their day. You should be fine, just count it as part of your 8oz protein/day and make sure to make the dinner protein adjustment.

By 'flakes' what do you mean? If it is a canned product, just check that it has no carbs. 'Regular' chicken does not have carbs, so as long as this stuff doesn't, you should be fine. That, and watch the fat content.

What are these flakes of ham, etc? Never heard of it. Is it like canned tuna?

I guess "flakes of" is a Canadian name for canned turkey, chicken, ham, etc. I use flakes of chicken to make chicken salad with WF mayo.
It should be fine. Make sure you eat enough to be equivalent to 8 oz of protein. One can might not be enough...

I believe she's referring to this type of product..? Hadn't thought of it, but I can see where it would be handy to have on hand.

You should probably also watch the sodium intake. Canned meats always seem really high in sodium and that will make you retain water, which may make the scale not seem to budge.

That is exactly what I was talking about but didn't have the nutritional value. By what I just read, I guess I'm ok. I'm on phase 2 so lots more protein. Thanks a lot everyone. You guys are awesome!!!
