Is this normal?
My clothes are getting too big for me, but the scale doesn't move as much... Shouldn't the scale also move as fast? Thanks all!

I'm no expert, so I'll be interested to read what others chime in on this.
For myself though, I'm just experiencing the same for the first time ever. I have only lost a couple of pounds in the last 3 months, but suddenly last week I noticed that I was now having to tighten my belt to the third notch, when I bought it 2 1/2 months ago it was at the first. So I thought it was just that it was a new belt, so it must have stretched. Then I noticed this week (when I didn't have a belt on my jeans) that my jeans were suddenly loose as well. For me it really seems to be affecting my waist area the most, which is a bit strange as that's probably where I have the least to lose. Anyhow, I'll take it!
Congrats on your measurement loss and keep up the good work!

First: Congratulations on clothes getting looser! That is a good thing no matter how you look at it!
Second: I am not expert but you may be losing inches, before weight. It is not uncommon, I dropped an entire pants size before I saw a difference in my weight. Depending on if you are exercising, you may be getting trimmer but building muscle (which weighs more than fat) so the scale may not move as fast.

Check back with us in a couple of days; I'd bet good money that your weight will have gone down.
It's common to lose the inches first and then the weight. It happened to me a lot actually. At one point I was stuck at 136lbs for three weeks and yet went from a size 8 to a 4! After that, WHOOSH, five pounds gone very quickly.

Running will definitely help you tighten up, but it can make you hang onto water while your muscles repair themselves and get used to the new activity. It's totally normal to get smaller while the scale stays the same. I am experiencing the same thing myself right now. Just keep at it and you'll see the numbers go down soon.

Please explain your statement that muscle weighs more than fat. A pound is 16 ounces whether its fat or muscle. Muscle takes up less volume than fat but the weight is the same. It also takes more calories to support a pound of muscle than a pound of fat.

They don't always match up as cleanly as you like. It's completely normal. Keep up the good work.

I think it's normal and congrats for not giving up! What an awesome feeling it is when clothes just fit better. I've bought a few dresses for summer a size smaller than what I am now, hopefully in a month or so I'll be able to wear them.

lol. My apologies, I am aware they weight the same (because a pound is a pound) but when at times like this is explains better how her clothes are fitting better without losing weight. I just stated it incorrectly, my apologies

It's normal, just as everyone said. Probably water retention from exercising, building muscle etc.
I haven't gone down in weight for several weeks now but because of increasing my weight training I have lost 3 inches in my waist. Just keep up the good work and it will come off!

It's normal. Your body burned fats and build muscle where muscle is heavier than fats. Correct me if i'm wrong

This happens to me too, exactly. Like now, I seem to be at the same weight for weeks, UGH, at a time, but I've been getting more compliments and I went down a snap in my bra.. and almost another jeans size. So, it's good... And technically, if I look and feel a certain way, I don't care what that number is.
