Default Pcos

I have seen a few mentions of ladies with PCOS going the IP route. I have PCOS and have IR with it. I have tried various methods of losing weight to no avail and this seems to be working so far (only on day 5 and haven't weighed myself).

I just wanted to see how well IP works for you and how it has changed your symptoms and such.

I have PCOS- I am not on medication for it. I have definitely noticed a difference with my cycles (they are more regluar now) but that is about it. I have been able to lose weight- 42 lbs so far! Best diet ever!!

I was never officially diagnosed with PCOS, but my doctor and I pretty much agree that I have/had it. I never really had a lot of the common symptoms, mostly irregular periods, infertility and excess body hair. I also used to get light-headed frequently if I hadn't eaten for a while.

I was put on metformin in September of 2010 and lost 23 pounds in about 7 weeks, which was great but it didn't solve any of my other issues.

I started IP five weeks ago and have lost 21 pounds. For the first time in I don't even know how long, my cycle was actually 4 weeks instead of the three it has been for quite some time - except for the times it was 5 weeks, of course. I never get dizzy any more and my sugar cravings are gone. I'm very happy with my results so far and am hoping this is a permanent change, especially WRT my cycle.

I have Pcos and liver disease. I am only on week 2. The LD can change if I lose weight, but can't lose weight easy as the liver stops metabolizing. I was put on metformin too for the pcos... Wendy, are you still on it? I went off to do this diet, my own idea, but wondering if I should stay on it. I am on the birth control pill to assist my pcos, as when I am not on it, my hair falls out. crazy!

I have PCOS and have tried NUMEROUS medications over the past twenty years. I've lost 50 lbs on IP and am now on a 30-day cycle for the first time in my life without medication. This diet has been amazing for me!!!

Good Luck!

No, I quit taking it a week or two before I started IP. I felt like it wasn't really doing anything any more, and since I didn't "have to" have it, I decided not to refill my scrip. I'd also started having some low sugar episodes again, so either I was becoming immune to it or my body needed a lower dose.

Honestly, my intent at the time was to get off of it for a while and then restart to see if that would kick start the weight loss again, but then I ended up doing IP instead.

The IP clinic I go to now is in a OBGYN's office, and my coach said the doctor chose to have a clinic in her office because so many women with PCOS did amazing on the IP diet. She wanted to be able to offer it to her patients.

I have PCOS - started as IR then became full diabetic. Was on metformin and insulin.

I haven't had a period in over two years. I started IP March 1 and the very week that I marked a 10% weight loss she showed up. Full and for realz. Of course I need to see what happens next and if my cycles actually start to regulate, but to actually get a period where normally I'd have nothing was a huge deal to me.

OH BOY!! I guess I should start to prepare for MAYBE having a cycle again. I guess that won't be a bad thing, but it is nice to not have to worry about that stuff!!

I have my first WI tomorrow so I will see if I lost. I have been 100% OP so I know it won't be me! I feel better, so that is a good thing!

I too have LD. I am hoping that I can help that. I laugh about having it because I am the only one in my family that doesn't drink and I am the one with liver damage!! They are alcoholics and are okay...odd!

I also quit taking metfomin the day I started IP but I am wondering if I took it if it would increase my loss. I might try it, IF I can stomach taking a few extra horse pills each day.
