Diet "Break" To Recharge Batteries, Anyone Else Do This?
Hey Everyone
This weekend is my boyfriends and I scheduled "diet break". I am using the word diet for lack of a better one, I do believe I have made a lasting life style change. These 2 days come once every 5-6 months and are scheduled. We use them to eat things we don't eat on a regular basis like, chips, pizza, cookies, ice cream without going to overboard. Of course we have tiny treats in between the 5-6 months but these 2 days are were we give ourselves permission to sit and eat a bag of chips between the 2 of us if we so choose to. I realize this will probably hinder my weight loss for this month, but I can't help but feel like I am "recharging my diet(again lack of a better word) batteries". I know it sounds funny, but I am not worried about going off track completely, I feel confident in myself and my ability to go back to my healthy eating.
Has anyone else done this before or are we truly the only ones?

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I beat myself up about it a few days ago. I'm now officially back on the wagon!

I tend to have a 'pig-out day' about once a week. Its usually unplanned - and because its happening like clockwork, I'm going with it. I'm able to lose weight 6 days of the week, so if its not broke, don't fix it

I zig zag my calories and stay under a weekly budget, but I don't have a pig out day. Just planned treats every once in a while.
I was curious if any one has purposefully gone on a planned maintenance break to break up their weight loss. If you have a lot to loose...every 30 pounds or so. Just wondering if it hurts or hinders the process. I was pondering doing this to extend the use of my clothing and to change things up a bit. Still track caleries, just a higher ammount for a month or so. But it may cause me to fall off the wagon. Not sure???

I think whatever you do and works for you is fair game so long as it is in the land of healthy. So you own it and rock on!
On my end? I take a weekend day off. We socialize, dine out, etc. and are flexible about which one it is. Sometimes, Sat, sometimes Sun -- depends if we're on our own or invited to things.

Since I started counting in Oct, I have not stopped counting. Every day, every meal. It scares me to not count. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

I definitely see either Saturday or Sunday a chance to indulge in what I've been craving, but I still count all my calories. If it works for you, do it!

I don't schedule them, sadly. It would be tough for me though not to get triggered to want to eat more. I have the same worries when I think about missing a workout for a day.

I don't schedule but I usually have between 2-4 a month. It dosen't stop my weight loss, although i'm sure it slows it down. But mentality, I think there good.

Everytime I do this it messes me up =( No matter how long the diet no matter how I approach it
I want to and I know people who can, so if you can, than it sounds like a good idea!

I did cheat days. My last one was last Friday. I won't be doing another. It tore my stomach up, and it ended up in a 3 day eating spree.
Charging my batteries.....more like charging my fat cells. I've scheduled one small treat a week. That's enough for me.

I don't really ever have a diet break (although over Christmas I just worked on maintaining rather than actual weight loss) but we still eat out 1-2 times per week. We just plan it into our day (maybe by skipping snacks for the day, eating less at lunch and trying to get in a good work out) and still are able to enjoy eating out. We have pizza at least once a week, I don't think I'd be able to stick with this without it!

I also generally use all of my WW weekly points on splurges on the weekend. It helps me not feel deprived and so far I'm still losing so I think it's fine!
