I'm making it my March resolution to incorporate more steamed main meals in my diet. I do enjoy steamed food, but I don't cook much variety. I tend to lean towards steamed salmon and some typical vegetables like carrots, long beans and peas.
If you're a regular steamer, I was wondering if you could recommend your favourite steam recipes?
What low-calorie condiments/flavourings also go well with steamed food?
A friend gave me this recipe for steamed kale. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds good!
12 cups chopped kale
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil, or as needed
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon soy sauce
salt and pepper to taste
Steam the kale for 7-10 minutes, or until tender. Mix together the
other ingredients, pour over steamed kale, and toss.
