New girl, want to lose weight once and for all...looking for friends? :)

  • Hi there,

Just signed up as I've decided it's time to lose this weight once and for all!! I really want to lose 20-25lbs before summer! I'm just a little bit overweight but it all gathers around my stomach and really affects my confidence, every few weeks I decide I'm going on a diet but it never works. So I'm hoping that if I'm talking to other people in similar situations I can keep motivated!
I'm going to be in a good position to lose weight over the next few months as I'm going to central america from March - June and I'm gonna be doing a helluva lot of swimming, but I really want to kickstart things before I go, so I'm able to wear a bikini when I get there and so that I'm not panting and puffing all the time either.

I'm going to try lose the weight by giving up chocolate cold-turkey, as chocolate is pretty much my kryptonite, I'm also going to eat my main carbs at lunch time and resolve to not snack after 8.30. I'm also going to try do an hour of aerobic exercise three times a week.
That's my plan for now...would love to hear from like-minded people, or anybody with tips on staying motivated

    Thanks!!

  • Hello!!

I recently made the same decision that this time i'm going to lose weight and do it right. I have tried to lose weight so many times and failed, sometimes even gained weight, so I am trying to just be completely healthy about it.

going to central america sounds amazing!! I've always been too self conscious to wear a bikini, and it's very inhibiting since i love swimming

I lost about 8 pounds recently after moving and living in Europe for 6 months, so I'm trying to keep it going by going to the gym at least 5-6 times a week, and limiting my carb and sugar intake. I'm also trying to drink a lot more water to keep hydrated.

Good luck with your weight loss, I'm trying to lose around 10 pounds in the next month and a half!!

  • Hi and welcome! You can definitely reach your goals! I look forward to seeing your cheer when you get there!
  • You can DO IT!
