Talking 100km baby! (60 miles)

I am doing a 100 km bike trip tomorrow (well later on today I guess), I am so excited. My friend and I are starting at 10am and it will probably take us 6-8 hrs to do the whole trip, depending on how fast we go and how much we stop. And oh man will my butt be sore tomorrow night.

I just got back. We actually couldn't do the whole 100km because my friend was having to stop every 3 minutes to catch his breath or rest and we lost a lot of time (he is very out of shape and he admitted he overestimated how much he could do). Actually another guy came with us, and he is an avid cyclist. Him and I could have cycled at least twice as fast and three times farther than we did. But we hit 50 km, so halfway to what we had wanted.

Wow! That sounds like fun, and lots of good work. Maybe you can challenge your friend to work on his endurance by setting up a date for the next 100K. /grin
