Default What things weigh

I'm thinking about my next mini milestone, 35 lbs lost, being the weight of the heavy dog food bags I buy. Started thinking it would be fun to have some other references we can look at to realize what we've lost. I found this on another site- here are some of the interesting ones. Anybody else got any? I kind of like having these as a frame of reference.

1 pound = a Guinea Pig

5 pounds = 6 pack of soda

7.5 pounds = an average newborn
8 pounds = a human head
10 pounds= a 12 pack of soda
11 pounds = an average housecat

20 pounds = an automobile tire

25 pounds = an average 2 year old

36 pounds = a mid-size microwave
40 pounds = a 5-gallon bottle of water or an average human leg

50 pounds = a small bale of hay
55 pounds = a 5000 BTU air conditioner
60 pounds = an elephants penis

70 pounds = an Irish Setter
77 pounds = a gold brick

90 pounds = a newborn calf
100 pounds = a 2 month old horse

117 pounds = an average fashion model (and shes 5'11")
118 pounds = the complete Encyclopedia Britannica
120 pounds = amount of trash you throw away in a month
130 pounds = a newborn giraffe

An elephant penis for me! ...Man, that thought frightens me...

Here's hoping I lose an Irish Setter soon though

I have lost a human leg and two guinea pigs (depending on the time of day for the guinea pigs!) lol
I find this post hilarious. I almost wish I had enough to lose to consider losing an elephant's penis!

This just cracked me up a ridiculous amount

I love this idea.

I've almost lost an irish setter! Wow!

I think 70lbs is also more than the pre-schoolers I used to teach weighed

I've lost an average fashion model and a human head (perhaps the model's friend was decapitated? ). Or, I've lost two elephant's penises and a 6-pack of can soda. Looking forward to losing a newborn giraffe soon.

I think I'll start telling people I've lost an elephant's penis (plus 2 guinea pigs!) when they ask how much I've lost so far.

lol, awesome thread. I'm going to have to come back and refer to this once pounds start dropping off. I know that once I reach my goal weight, I will have lost an entire me (252.2 at my highest, half of that is 126 and a healthy BMI--my final weight goal). I'll be happy if my body weight settles a little above that, but I'd at least like to get down to it just so I can say I did it.
