Cool Starting today, I need lots of support

Good Morning,
I have been reading all the posts regarding the IPD and have decieded that I am going to give this a try. I am going to do the alternative. I have started it this morning, and I really need all the prayers and support that I can get to get me thru this. I have tried so many "diets", and I did lose 50 pds on LAWL but I stooped it and went back to eating like I used to and then gained it all back and then some. I am praying that I will beable to do this. Any advice would be greatly apprechiated.

Welcome, there is lots of support on this board. The first couple of days to a week is tough depending on who you talk to but if you power through it, it will get easier.

Good Luck!

Rissimo - Welcome and we are here to support you. If you follow the IP protocol, the first couple of days will be rough, but hang in and you will get through it. Did you read Dr Tranh's book online. It is always on the first post on daily chat when Wuv starts the thread. It will give you all the info you need to follow the diet.

Best of luck rissimo! I was in your position 3 weeks ago, my week 3 weigh in is tomorrow. The first 3 days were tough, headaches. After that it gets much easier. For some reason the high protein diet is easier to keep control of that other diets I've tried. This site is great for inspiration, check out the before and after pics! I look at people's successes and it spurs me on.

Hi Rissimo, and welcome to a fellow Tennessean! You will find all kinds of support and great advice here. Be sure to check out the stickys for some great recipes from FinnSteven. He should be one of the official IP chefs! Good luck to you.

Welcome to the group and to IP. As you heard the first few days can be difficult, but you will love it after that. Hang in there and this will be your "last diet." I also have been on just about every diet known to man, and while this is the strictest diet I have ever been on, it's also been the easiest.

Welcome!

Welcome to the extended family where you will make lots of friends and you will even begin supporting others because you will notice that they are going through the same thing. You are NOT ALONE in this journey, WE are ALL on the same journey with you.

Like everyone said your first few days are going to be rough but your body has to get rid of the toxins from all of the bad food you have eaten over the years. You may get a really bad headache, if this happens take 1/2tsp of the sea salt in the palm of your hand and lick it, then drink some water. Your headache will be gone within 15 mins ....you will notice that sea salt will be your best friend, even if you get a little dizzy do the same thing, your electrolites(sp) will probably be low which sometimes happens....Hang in there though...YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Trust me, if I can do it, you can do it. I've been on every diet imaginable!!!! There are going to be good days and bad days but definitely more good than the bad, AND the results you get are amazing.

Make sure to take measurements because even though the scale may not move as much as you want in a week, the inches lost will make up for that. Good luck

The best advice anyone gave me before I started is "don't cheat". You need to stay in ketosis. It isn't like other diets where you may be able to sneak in something you really aren't supposed to have here and there without it really mattering on the scale, but with IP you won't stay in ketosis and it kind of defeats the whole purpose of doing it.

Fortunately there is wonderful support here and we are all in the same boat, so you will have all the help you need!!
Good luck- you can do it!
