Default Self Hypnosis and Weight Loss

I am Steve and have lost 123 pounds in 13 months using Self Hypnosis and would love to recommend it to everyone. I have tried to lose weight all my life and this time it stuck... I do self hypnosis every evening and in 13 months have never gained 1 pound back.

How long does the self hypnosis take each evening?

Do you have a food plan and/or exercise plan in addition.

Hypnosis takes approx 25 to 30 minutes each evening.

I have no food plan but it is built into my suggestions during hypnosis. For example, easy on carbs, know carbs are not good.
Fruit and veggies are good, clean and healthy...
Eating slower, tasting and enjoying food
As soo as you feel your getting full stop eating...
I eat what I want... Just know not to abuse and know when I am full.

The biggest change was exercise... I have ramped my exercise from NOTHING to every day 2 miles at noon and 30 minutes on elliptical... then weights for 15 minutes.
Weekends I do 4 miles and 60 minutes on elliptical and still 15 minutes with weights.

And never eat anything after 8:00 pm

There is still some work on your part but it takes the edge off for me.

How is self hypnosis done. How does one learn how to do it?

I took a certification class to become a Certified Hypnotist. I can now Hypnotize and Teach clients and groups self hypnosis. I would suggest you find someone certified in your area and take the class of 100 hours + of training or have a weight loss session that would include self hypnosis. Just make sure you go to a certified person.

JMHO....I've tried hypnosis many times...mostly for quitting smoking...IT NEVER WORKED FOR ME...I don't think I would spend the time or money to get trained or have someone hypnotize me. I have family members who have tried it to...AND IT NEVER WORKED FOR THEM....Having said that, I do have some podcasts that I downloaded that are sort of hypnosis for both smoking and weightloss...figured they were free, might be worth a try.....if I could just find the time to listen to them.

I don't know about self-hypnosis, but I most certainly DO rely on self-talk.

I tell myself things constantly. I'll see something that I think that I "want" and talk myself out of it. "This won't help you, it'll only harm you." "The taste is temporary, the calories lasting". "You WILL feel crappy AFTER you eat it". and so on and so on. It's gotten me out of many a hairy situation.

When facing a particularly challenging day, food wise, I'll think my thoughts through ahead of time and map out a plan in my mind.

I talk myself into exercise at times when I don't feel like doing it.

I talk myself into preparing and cooking on the occasions when I just don't feel like it.

Which sounds to me, like what you are calling self-hypnosis.

My understanding, which may be limited, of the difference between self-talk/positive affirmations, and self-hypnosis/meditation, is that the first puts information into your conscious mind, and the second, into your sub-conscious mind. They are mutually reinforcing. Either can work separately, and for some people they work best together. Different things work for different folks.

Pretty close, Good job

Hypnosis has two parts:
1, The bypass of the Critical factor in the conscious mind.
2, The establishment of acceptable selective thinking, thoughts, ideas and concepts that you
want to have operate in your life.

When you are in hypnosis you are fully alert, fully awake. You hear everything that’s going around you. You have full control.

it's not for everyone but 123 pounds is 123 pounds

Wow this brought back some memories. I posted this a long while ago. I have now completed my weight loss and my totals are:

Highest weight 475, 1988
First diet down to 384, 1995
Loss of: 91 pounds
Re-start at 384 in April 2008
End 198 February 2011
200 Pounds Lost from Restart
Current Weight: 184 pounds
291 Pounds Total Pounds Lost

This last part I have lost 200 pounds with hypnosis. I have still maintained my weight at 184...

That's awesome. You should change your weight in the sidebar to reflect that (although getting from 475 to 292 is awesome too).
