Hi girls! Ugghh! I have been eating way to much meat in the past few days. I do have my three cups of veggies daily, but mostly it is lettuce or cucumbers.

Breakfeast - three eggs scrambled (two egg whites, one whole egg), with ham too! ( I think I shouldn't have eaten the ham though. I am sure that it was honey baked, but it was in the freezer and too tempting!)

Lunch - post roast, salad with mayo

Snack - fried chicken (no skin), cream cheese.

Dinner - fried chicken (no skin), hamburger, cucumbers with mayo

Quick question - What are you girls doing for sweet snacks? We are allowed to eat 'Ready Whip' correct? I get a craving for sweets after dinner but cannot find anything to eat!
Also, has anyone found a good sugarfree, aspartame free gum to chew?
Thanks for the help and good luck!

Default REDDI WHIP?

Are you on Atkins? If so don't think Reddi-Whip is allowed due to sugar content (unless it is sugar free?)...... I know you can however make your own sugar free whipped cream with heavy/whipping cream with splenda...very yummy...add a splash of vanilla and some cream cheese for a mock cheesecake kind of dessert. All of these are allowed on induction.

Another option for the sweet tooth (altho we are supposed to stop having one ) is sf gelatin (not jello due to aspartame) made with gelatin and splenda and regular kool aid (unsweetened).

Have fun.

Froufy, how much kool aid and splenda do you put in your gelatin?

LizzieBeth, none of the cool whips/whip creams on the market are allowed. They all have sugar, and some of them have starches to thicken them with. After having homemade whipping cream whipped with Splenda, I don't think I'd ever want to go back to store bought!

Yesterday wasn't the greatest. Not bad though---

B Smoothie

S string cheese

L chicken breast, a deviled egg, garden salad

D eggplant parmesan and salad.

I forgot that we were taking Cody to dinner for the first day of school celebration (tradition, and he gets homeschooled starting next year so this is our last ever!) so we went to Olive Garden. I had 3 bites of spaghetti and about 3 tablespoons of breading on the eggplant, and I gained 2 pounds! Must be water.

Today's plan:

B Smoothis

S String cheese

L Salad...maybe a chicken breast

S mixed nuts

D Sauteeed chicken and spinach casserole, salad

Default New to low carb! Haven't figured it out yet!!!!

OK, I've looked at Atkins. I've looked at The Zone. I'm not sure what the heck I'm doing!!! I need some guidance here!!! I know there are veggies that are carbs as well as fruit is a carb! Is it OK to eat some veggies and fruits? I'm a carb addict with bread, potatoes and pasta especially! Cokes and those things are what I'm trying to stay away from!

My menu today:

B-1 egg w/slice FF ham and low fat cheese
S-Zone perfect bar (they're sooooo good)
L- chicken breast, squash and tomatoe, cucumber and onion salad with Lite Paul Newman's dressing
S- string cheese and 10 white grapes
D- I'm not sure yet! I've got to work so I'm thinking a salad!

Please help! I think I'm gonna like this but I just want to make sure I'm doing it right!

Thanks!

Hi all. I have been doing atkins for 11 days now. I have a question -

How should I be getting up to 20 g of carbs a day? I don't drink coffee, so the coffee, splenda and cream points are out (unless I have cream some other time)

I am having trouble getting enough food in, as I am not hungry - but I really can't see how I could quadrouple (sp) my carbs unless I have a cookie? (believe me, I would be happy to)

Seriously, am I calculating wrong? What would you suggest?

Thanks!

Bailey, I would suggest you add more veggies, add mushrooms and green peppers to your eggs in the morning. Anything like that would work pretty good. Instead of cheese for snacks, have a few slices of cucumber etc. I know your not hungry, I have that same problem, but we have to eat, or our bodies think we are starving them.

Here was my day

Breakfast: 2 eggs w/cheddar cheese

Lunch 2 wasa crips w/ lf hard salami, and cheddar cheese

Supper: Curry chicken (from atkins site) and broccoli

Snack 1 boiled egg, 2 slices of turkey and sf jello

Default TUESDAY, JULY 15

Breakfast:
2 slices havarti (my package says 1.4 carbs per slice!) = 2.8
decaf w/cream (2)
=4.8

Lunch:
subway tuna salad (6)
w/lite italian dressing (.7)
decaf w/cream (1)
=7.7

Dinner:
6 chicken wings (.5)
sour cream dip (3.5)
lc cheesecake (4)
decaf w/cream(2)
=10

Total: 22.5.....slightly over!

Bailey: how about some whipping cream whipped up w/some splenda and a splash of vanilla or other flavoring? Also you might want to add some snacks (I sometimes have a mock danish in the afternoon) to your menu. How about some cream cheese with your eggs. Also my bacon has some carbs (.7 for 3 slices) and my havarti is much higher in carbs than yours.....!!!

Froufy

P.S. Non aspartame jello recipe:
2 packets of Knox Gelatin
1 packet Koolaid mix (unsweetened & u pick the flavor)
8-10 packets of Splenda

Then you simply just make it like regular jello, add 2 cups boiling water and dislove the powders, then add 2 cups of cold water or ice!!
