Lose 20 pounds (or whatever amount you want) by New Year's Eve Challenge!
Hi everyone!! I would like to start a challenge for New Year's Eve. I think I can very reasonably lose 20 pounds by then. I am a calorie counter (I use MyFitnessPal and love it!!), do twice weekly 45 minute spin classes, and try to get at least 2 more workouts in a week, and more if possible. I am a full-time student, we have five-year-old twins and a five-month-old baby, and my husband is also a student and works full-time. We have a busy household--but getting healthier is a priority for me, so I stick to my plan. I hope you'll join me to being the best we can be for the new year!
SW 9/28: 211
GW 12/31: 191
By the way, I haven't seen Onederland since my twins were born, so I'll be hitting that AWESOME milestone along the way!!!

By the way, I happen to count calories, but all plans are welcome! Just post your starting weight, your goal weight, your eating/exercise plan, and weigh in when you want! I'll probably stick to once weekly myself, but again, however often you weigh is fine.

What a great idea! My goal is to lose 27 pounds by then, by counting calories and shooting for 6 runs a week, with a minimum of 3 runs a week. Having this goal will help me stay on track during the holidays.

My goal is to be at goal or in maintenance by New Years.
CW: 126
GW: 105-110
I am a calorie counter. My exercise includes P90x, biking, walking, jogging, and 30 Day Shred six days a week with one rest day. I try to do 3 of the exercises in a day.

Thanks rainydays! I haven't been in ONEDERLAND since before I started college...so this should be exciting. (I'm so happy I saved some of my ONEDERLAND clothes from high school...)

That is good--I'm going to treat myself to a new wardrobe at goal though since it's been so long! Right now I just buy cheap stuff when needed, and use the crap out of a belt!

I hope so! Thanksgiving and Christmas is still in between now and New Years. I have to work on controlling myself at gatherings and holidays.

I'm already doing at least a couple of challenges that go to the end of the year, but for me, the more the merrier when it comes to challenges! lol! But I do find they are really really helpful for me in keeping on track.
I am doing the Dukan Diet (low fat and very low carb) and shooting for daily activity although I will probably put in a rest day here and there.
When I started my plan on May 22, I thought I would be lucky to get to Onederland by the end of the year. So I have been shocked but thrilled about how quickly I am making progress and that goal is now less than 10 lbs away (going from today's "unofficial" weight - I record my official weight on Sundays). The idea that I am now going to set a goal weight for this challenge that is in the 100s just blows my mind!
I'll go with 20 lbs, which would take me to 189 as my goal for this challenge. It would be pretty amazing to be not just in Onderland but out of the 190s!! However, I would be extremely thrilled to get to 191, as that is my 3rd 10% loss and also takes me from the obese to the overweight category.

AprilSnow, welcome! Glad you joined us here. I have a few other challenges with various dates, but I love the accountability too! Great goal, but at the rate you've been losing, I'd be surprised if you didn't lose more by NYE!
It's great that now three of us are crossing the magical threshold into Onederland!!!

Hi I would like to join your challenge! I would like to get to my 230 weight loss goal by New Years... I'm currently 252. that's 22lbs to lose..totally doable .. then I will no longer be morbidly obese.. My weight loss program is weight watchers Points Plus..My weight has steadily been coming off, not very fast but at a good rate..about 1.5-2 lbs a week..

SLIMplicity, welcome! 1.5-2 lbs a week is great!! That's a perfectly normal and healthy rate of losing. 22 lbs is definitely doable, and it's fantastic that you'll no longer be morbidly obese! Hooray!! That is a MAJOR goal!

Hi rainydays,
I am new to 3fc, and I've been looking for a challenge to join to help keep me on track. I'd love to join you! I'm just starting on the south beach diet, I'm not sure how things will move along, but I'd love to lose 12 pounds by New Years Day. So,
SW: 151
GW: 139
This stretch of time, with Halloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas is always a challenge for me eating-wise. But I'm hoping to stay on the plan, and to get in at least 4 workouts a week. Biking and spin classes are my favorite ways to exercise.
Thanks for starting this challenge!
-TJ
