If it is not too late I would like to join this challenge, as February 14 is close enough to be tangible but far enough to allow for some real movement. I will try for 10 lbs as I hope some on the scale is a result of holiday volume. Nothing like being accountable to start the new year off right.

Welcome haggis and everyone else who is new and joined while I was out of town! 160.0 this AM, down 2 from yesterday, phew! 8 pounds to go by 2/14. Totally doable if I screw my head on right. Exercise needs to happen...

I did have to wear a sweatshirt. With shorts. And I slept in the cockpit under the stars.

We pay for all this nice winter weather with brutally hot and humid summers of course, so it is a tradeoff!

I was in Key West in one July and I must admit, it was pretty awful.

I do like winter and cold, though. (Afterall I am a Finn ) As long as one dressed appropriately for the cold, it is tolerable.

I love Michigan summers.

I was in Sanibel, FL last week and the thing I couldn't stand was the no-see-ums. They even sneak through the screens onto the lanai! My father says that you grow immune to them over time. Has that been your experience, Michelle? Had a lovely kayak trip in the bayou at sunset -- tons of white pelicans!

Hello! I would love to join this challenge as well. I have a modest Valentine's Day goal that is super important to me... Lose 8 lbs and get to 191 lbs, which will make me no longer obese!!! I would also like to add on a fitness goal. I have not even started any sort of exercising yet since I started dieting >< I would like to set a modest fitness goal of exercising 3 times per week until Valentines Day.

I'm somewhat embarrassed because comparing my daily diet to everyone elses, mine seems very erm prepackaged with not a lot of fresh foods. Everyone's choices seem much more appetizing and delicious than mine. Hoping I get inspired to try some new dishes.

B-cream of wheat, egg, cheese
L- Jersy Mike's roast beef & provolone sub in a tub (not impressed BTW), animal crackers, orange
S- mixed berries, cheese stick
D- salad with chicken, feta, guacamole. 2 oz brown rice
S- no sugar added ice cream, magic pop rice cake
8+ cups of water, walking at mall exercise
Approx 1300 calories

L: veggie burrito filling (no tortilla) with a tbs of sour cream mixed in
S: canned pumpkin mixed with Greek yogurt, a splash of unsweetened applesauce, cinnamon, and ground ginger

D: Tuscan bean stew, thin slice of wheat bread with white bean spread, 2 chicken wings, 2 slices of salami, a few shavings of cheese, unsweetened applesauce
