Just crossed the BMI index into Obese!!

Things are getting worse around here. I just realized that my weight now classifies me as obese. Yick. I need to lose 32 pounds to get back to the healthy level. Here we are in the middle of December, which makes it super tough to really get a start on anything, but every baby step will get me closer, right?
Wondering where I should jump in as far as threads go? Maybe just the chat thread for now and I'll start up with the next challenge in Jan.
Meanwhile I am going to try and exercise more than I have been by walking AT LEAST 2 miles a day, maybe 4. :dizzy: (It's also been hard to find the time, so busy with 3 kids!!!) And now I hear my husbands voice saying "Don't make excuses"....
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and get headed in the right direction.

Hi. I have only been here a few weeks but I find the support and friendly conversations a big help. We seem to all be here for one another and ready to celebrate victories and help brush off little bumps in the road.
I see you've been here before so, welcome back even if you don't really want to be here.

Sounds like you have a great plan to get started. Chat threads are great. Challenge threads are really great motivators too.

Welcome! And congrats on getting a jump on the New Year's Resolution crowd. =)

Welcome Apple Blossom! Jump in on all the threads!

Any food moderation during this time of year is a victory -- it is so much better than saying "oh well, I might as well eat EVERYTHING and then I'll start getting healthy January 1!"

Like LaurieDawn says, you can get a big jump ahead just by putting some effort in now!

Welcome!

So weighing in this morning I am 177. That puts me back in the over-weight category. Whew. 29 pounds sounds easier than 32! But still hard as heck. Only walked 1 mile yesterday.

Thanks everyone. I'll be joining the chat and I have posted on the weekly weigh in page too. Which might be scary these next 2 weeks but...
Mrs. Snark, I read pretty much all of your blog. Very entertaining. You have done such a great job. I just don't see myself having that much discipline. Especially since I ate about 300 calories worth of salted caramel kettle corn while I was reading it...

Mrs Snark 12-17-2013 09:51 PM

Thanks for the nice comment! 300 calories is such a moderate amount of kettle corn, you can definitely make that work and still have a day in the WIN column!

Certainly not everyone has to be as drastic with their food as I am in order to make progress (I think I'm a bit of a head case!) We all have to find what works for us!

Congrats on the good weigh-in!

:welcome: back to the threads Apple Blossom :) I weighed in today at 176.8 and I am in the obese category, I have to get to 165 to move to the overweight category. :) Good job on your walk today :)

Jump into the threads, definitely! And my suggestion is to not wait until January to make some changes. It's so easy to gain weight over the holidays that if you aren't proactive about it, you may find that you will gain weight before your Jan 1 start date.

I put on 20 lbs this year, and am just recently taking steps to go the other direction again. This month my goals are: Daily workout, no sweets period except for Christmas dinner, limit carbs daily. I have stopped the weight gain, the scale is sloooowly moving down.
