Okay here comes my pity party.

I am stuck! It has been 2 weeks since this challenge started and I have made zero progress. I am trying like heck, tho... it would be nice if my scale were to agree. That 150 pounds sounds impossible right now

I simply can not eat any less or exercise more. Zumba I am a super fast walker (4 mph the whole 5 miles), I can not run; I shattered my ankle 4 years ago and it still hurts and the hardware hurts

So I guess I am going to keep doing what I am doing and hope that stupid scale catches up with me eventually.

KeliJ, so nice to see you again girlfriend! Someone who lost 100 lbs once told me that she is continuously picking herself up and reminding herself to stay the course.....it is the nature of the beast. I guess the goal is so that this healthy lifestyle becomes so ingrained that it feels natural and no longer feels like hard work...just how you live.....your post reminded me of that.

SUM studies have shown that brisk walking can be just as good a workout as running, with less impact on your joints...so more power to you!

Wow, I typed a long post and lost it..grrrrrrrr...hate when that happens. I'm too lazy to write all the profound stuff over again..LOL....

KELIJ; so nice to see you girlfriend!!!!

SUM: brisk walking can be as effective as running, keep doing your thang lady!!!

Well I cleansed yesterday and am point 8 over what my ticker says.....so I'm somewhat happy that I lost the bloat from the weekend eating. I am cleansing again today and really hope to lose two more lbs. I cheated yesterday when I made dinner but its so hard to be cleansing while cooking a great meal for your kids.....I probably would have lost more..Oh well, i'm doing the best that I can and I'm happy that i'm away from that scary 150 number.
A very easy Zumba class today and then I may walk with friends.....I would much rather do a DVD but the weather is pleasant so walking it is....never got around to putting air in the tires of my bike.....hopefully this week.

Have a wonderful morning everyone....

Nice going Zumba. I think I will add 100 lunges to my routine on the days I don't go to the gym. DH and I used to do 20 lunges after each mile we walked. My butt needed a little lift

kelijpa What's your splurge at the end of this challenge?

Has everyone decided on their splurge yet?

I stepped on the scale today to 161! How in the heck did I jump up almost 5 lbs in 1 1/2 weeks? It isn't TOM. I just don't get it, and I am so bummed right now. I really need to reassess my diet, and it's coming right when I am about to start a holiday with my family. How can I eat anything when I know I am so off track, and all I am going to be surrounded with are fattening foods? I feel so scared right now that I am slipping off the ledge. I need to get back on track...I keep saying it, but when am I going to do it?

Sorry to be a downer, folks. Good luck today!

Oh Guacamole!!! So sorry I know that feeling!! Yes, you need to reassess what is going on. Obviously something going on. Mine was wine and the snacking it brought on. -- I don't drink any more, at all...I am hoping my scale, eventually, will thank me. -- You prolly are carrying a lot of water weight. I know you are careful with bread...what about cheese? Or could you have a food allergy?

I have been taking Zyrtec every day for the past 3 weeks for my allergies. I have read the Zyrtec causes weight gain and appetite increase. I certainly have been more hungry than usual. Maybe it's the meds? Hopefully, my spring time allergies are almost over, so I can stop taking Zyretec, and see if there is any improvement. I don't know... Just feeling so awful about my appearance right now...

Thanks so much for the support!

Hi, guys. Tough day here. Well, first I have not been eating well since Sunday. Like you, Zumba, Indian food on Mother's Day, which just ensures bloat and gain. Then poor eating yesterday. And today - I was totally blindsided by the big celebrity news story of the day, where a beautiful actress announced major surgery. Her op-ed story is my story from 2010 - 2012, with all the wrenching decisions, soul searching, surgeries (although I had both surgeries, she has only had one so far). And how does it relate to here? It was during those 2 years that I put on 50 pounds as I struggled to deal with the emotional side of things. And over the last year I have taken off those 50 pounds. Having this in the news today, everywhere you turn, has been emotional for me, and I'm struggling to stay out of the kitchen cabinets... ack! So there, now you know my story LOL

Heidi: I think you made a brave, wonderful decision. My BFF is in the middle of making it and having a really rough time, so I understand a little about what you went through.

Heidi thank you so much for sharing with us. I'm sure remembering your experience with the topic being all over the news must be difficult. If there were ever a good reason to gain weight other than having a baby that is it....you gave yourself a gift! I admire you.

Heidi: I didn't think I could respect you any more than I already did. I was wrong - you are truly an incredible lady. You are my hero in so many ways!
