  • Heidi: I teach juniors and seniors, so 16-18. I love it. All this Pittsburgh talk makes me want to take a little road trip! It's my favorite city within a couple hours of my house! I'd love to live there!
  • On 11/17/13 I squeezed myself into a pair of old jeans. They were wearable, although a little tight for comfort. On 4/18/13 (5 months later) I wore them as my loose, comfortable go-to gardening jeans.
  • My daughter gave me her pair of Clavin Klein shorts I bought her last year ...she did not like them because they came above the knees Pedal Pusher style...tried them on this morning and they fit! So happy cuz I paid good money for them and she was not wearing them....cuz she thought they were too long ...but they are perfect for me ! And I don't have to spend money!

So now when I buy her clothes ...if she is letting them lay in her closet ...I will happily claim ownership and wear

    Roo2
  • So, I got bold and tried on a skirt that I have not worn since October 2012. It fit, and looser than the last time I wore it!!
  • Hubby discovered my NSV:

Yesterday as I stood in front of a window in the gym my husband says to me "Hey, NSV! You can see light coming through the top of your legs!" *sigh* Of course that's where he was looking... .
But it's good to know that my thighs don't touch when I stand with my feet together!
  • Lol, 2FatCats! That's a great NSV! Where else should he be looking

My NSV is 2 people at work today told me it looks like I've lost a lot of weight!
  • Roo how great that you can shop your daughter's closet! I have been
stealing all my sons' jackets as the grow out of their Adult Smalls.

Sparks awesome re: the skirt! I love when clothes get too large...

2fatCats great NSV!! Not something you would have easily noticed yourself, unless you were contorting.

Jennifer great to get compliments! Congrats on your 30 pounds!!

Here, I go to the same little Italian grocery almost every week and the cashier that I see each time was floored when I walked in wearing capris and a tight t-shirt. Since I'm normally wearing a heavy jacket or a sweater or something, she had no idea I had lost weight, let alone 50 pounds, so it just hit her all of a sudden. She was flabbergasted. It was great!

And... today I had my fitness eval. My BF% went from 41% to 22% in one year.
  • Heidi: Wow! That's fantastic!! What an amazing BF% after only a year!
  • Great NSVs, thanks for sharing.

I'm back I size 10pants, can't believe it, not feeling self conscious with the way I look with the nice weather coming. It's a great feeling and I'm not even at my goal yet. Feeling so strong about getting there and maintaining.

    Best to all
  • Awesome, kelijpa!! It's a great feeling, feeling good...
  • Ooh..I like reading these. Compliments and smaller sizes ftw!

I had an exciting NSV last night. My plan (No S Diet, lowcarb style) allows for treating myself on special occasions and/or weekends. Last night we had company and my daughter made cream puffs...so I planned to eat 2 small ones and made sure to eat well all day so I would feel no guilt. They were delicious and I felt satisfied and in control.

But - there was one left when I was cleaning up the kitchen. And extra chocolate sauce. And no one wanted it. And I looked at it longingly. And - I threw it away!!!
  • sparks17, that is an AWESOME nsv!! They look better than they taste, and you had such a great day. Wonderful!
  • I had a willpower NSV last night. When I got home last night (after a 11+ hour work day), the kids wanted ice cream. Since it was a little late for my 3.5 mile walk, we decided to just walk to DQ as a family (about 1.5 mile). So, not only did I get a little exercise in on an evening where I wasn't planning it, I resisted and did not order anything! I really didn't even want to. That's a heck of an accomplishment for me

Yes - one heck of an accomplishment! Not eating the ice cream is awesome, but not wanting it...that shows a real internal change. Brava!

I wonder how I would do if I took the kids for a walk to Dunkin Donuts...not going to chance it any time soon, that is for sure
  • Belated good job on the ice cream nsv, Jennifer!

I'm here with an ice cream NSV myself. One of my sons had an awards ceremony and afterwards we went for ice cream. I asked the girl if they sold any sizes smaller than what was listed on the menu, and they did! The smallest (baby size) was about a TBS of ice cream, the next smallest (junior size) looked to be about 1/3 cup. Much to the embarrassment of my sons, I ordered that and enjoyed every last lick of it.
